Meet
Hayward Looked Great Tonight

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.On a positive note I thought Gordon Hayward played really well tonight. Was moving well and seemed to be in a great rhythm. His stats were great too 5-5, 2 offensive rebounds, and 1 assist to boot. Which brings me to my point why does his +/- stat show -23?? He had zero turnovers and zero fouls, so why is that number so dang low??

the +- stat means how many points the team gained or dropped while he was in the game. So while Hayward played a solid game, the team as a whole lost 23 points while he was out there.
Yes he did.
I love Hayward, great basketball IQ and is only 20 years old. Imagine him with another 25 lbs and a couple years experience, he can easilly be a 20 & 10 guy.
I think he will get more playing time under Corbin. Hey, maybe this will be a consistent theme.
I agree. Since this season is probably wasted from the viewpoint of championnship dreams, give Hayward playing time and Miles his last opportunity. And of course trade AK.
I think we can see that Hayward is going to develop into a more complete player than Miles in terms of rebounding, passing, and defense. I like CJ, but what we see now from him is basically what we’re gonna get. I think he’s reached his potential. And, unfortunately, there’s just not enough there. Not only does he not do enough of the other things (rebounding, passing, defense), his shooting isn’t that great. He’s 6th on the team in 3-point field goal percentage (behind Williams, Hayward, Kirilenko, Millsap, and Bell) and second to last in overall field goal percentage (only Price is worse…that’s not counting Okur). Miles is supposed to be a shooter but, unfortunately, he just doesn’t shoot the ball that well. Not only does Hayward have the opportunity to move into that role, but the Jazz NEED him to do it.
