Is the lottery fixed?

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

This question has not been brought up. When the Bulls got Rose I think they came from the eighth place. Bucks got Bogut they came from sixth place. Cavs got home town favorite James. If it is fixed I say the Pistons will win this year. They will somehow get ahead of the Jazz. My second choice would be the Kings.    Thoughts??

@L.K….Look at you, trying to stir up a hornet’s nest of conspiracy talk on this site. :)

The lottery began in 1985, the same year Patrick Ewing came out, so some believe the lottery was instituted as a way to help New York get him. In reality, though, it began so teams would stop tanking games in order to guarantee themselves a better pick, which was happening like crazy in the Olajuwon craze late in 1984. Consider that from ‘03-’07, the lottery winning teams were Cleveland, Orlando, Milwaukee, Toronto, and Portland. Those are among the league’s smallest markets, meaning if the lottery were actually rigged, I think you’d see bigger markets like New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia, winning more often.

I think it is rigged. Hopefully stern feels sentimental over the jazz missing the playoffs and helps us out a little bit. I think Sacramento or Washington win it this year. Maybe Houston in a long shot gets a top 3.

If the Jazz don’t win, then yes, its fixed.

Looks like Jazz 3-12. Wow!! for the Cavs 1-4.Luck in the bad form strikes Wolves again. But #2ain’t bad..

Might be a blessing in disguise for Minnesota, how many times have they drafted a PG with their pick for it only to turn bad. Derrick Williams should still be a good fit for them. If though Irving goes to the Cavs and the Timberwolves pass on him in preference for a PG like Walker, I’d be happy to see him in a Jazz uniform. The draw worked out well. We should be able to afford to take on a project at the 12 slot.

anybody who believes that is crazy.

Looks like the Wolves GM may be in hot water over comments made on this subject.
