What about this 3-Way trade!? Includes Bynum coming to Utah!!

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

Alright here is what just came up with, so tell me what you think!

The trade would be with the Jazz, Lakers, and Magic.

Lakers Get:

C Dwight Howard

SG/SF Hedo Turkoglu

Magic Get:

C Pau Gasol

C Al Jefferson

PF Paul Millsap

Jazz Get:

C Andrew Bynum!!!!!!!!!

After that we would only have to sign Green and our team is basically complete, the last thing we would need to get is a PG for the Future and think with our GSW pick we can get Myck Kabongo out of Texas-Rajon Rondo 2.0! Our team then could eventually look like this!

PG: Kabongo-Burks-Mo.Williams

SG: Hayward-Burks-Green-Murphy

SF: Ma.Williams-Hayward-Carroll-Evans

PF: Favors-Kanter-Evans

C: Bynum-Kanter-Favors

What do you think!?

No chance the Magic take back that much salary and no future draft picks.
No chance the Lakers give up both Pau & Bynum and take back Hedo’s anchor of a contract.
    The Jazz side is a no-brainer :)

  2. Worst idea ever PERIOD

I would agree. I hate to use the word stupid but it seems to fit very very well.

  4. Justin says:

Bynum isn’t a fit for Utah:

    1) He would never want to come here
    2) He has serious attitude issues
    3) Bynum would really need to sign an extension for it to be worth it for us (otherwise we are just renting him for a year). That would put the Jazz in a situation for next year, where at least we could choose to trade Al etc because they had a remaining year on the contract.
    4) We really have our next future (and much less expensive) big in Favors

Thank you Justin. I’m embarrassed this post was even created. Why don’t we just trade for Lebron, Kobe, Bynum, and Howard?!? They’d all LOVE to play in Utah. lol. Come on, there’s got to be something better to chat about via forum.

  6. This isn’t an upgrade for the Jazz.

  7. Chris says:

This is a joke, right? Bynum isn’t even willing to sign an extension to play in Orlando, a much more desirable market than Utah (no state taxes, coastal, larger market, etc.)

The fact remains that players still have all the power over where they go, so less favored markets like Salt Lake are at a natural disadvantage. The Thunder have overcome that issue by having a great management and coaching team as well as one of the most comprehensive staffs in the league which makes players never want to leave when they go there. Though our management is pretty good (KOC has actually done quite nicely this offseason in a small number of moves, even if the Bell situation was one he got himself into in a past poor decision), our staff isn’t lauded by most players the way OKC’s is, and our head coach is inexperienced, unimaginative and not exciting. I think Coach Ty has done a fairly nice job given the circumstances, but Scott Brooks is a legitimate draw for players and Ty Corbin just isn’t.

  8. Anthony Hansen and Jake should start writing sports fantasy novels. Actually, with the way they both speel, it would have to be some kind of comic.

@The Prefessional: You are a hypocrite at best.

  9. *Spell. The irony is not lost on me…

  10. Jake says:

Anthony – Don’t feel bad that other people are only out to try to make themselves seem smarter than you by calling your ideas stupid. I think its totally pathetic and would like to see these guys do that to your face or mine. lol that would be a totally different experience. The very small guys out there that act the biggest and the toughest when hiding behind a computer screen. Pay no attention to them, they have nothing good to add and don’t realize they only make themselves more hated and look more stupid then they already were or did.

I here what you’re saying on the trade scenario… Basically lets trade up with our talent. Not down, or sideways. In other words why trade proven talent for unproves draft picks? Why trade them for another average player at the same or another position? I agree with you on that. It makes more sense to package our 2 talents for 1 talent that is much better. Thats where we’re at on this team. We don’t have one superstar on our squad, or even a proven allstar. I’m not a believer of having to have 3 superstar talents on a team to win, but I think we do need some. Bynum as bad of attitude that he has is still a huge freakish center that has a ton to offer a team. He is a true center and can get the job done on both ends of the floor. I can see why you would wan’t him. We all would and if it took Milsap and Jefferson to do that I’d be down with that. Especially knowing we have a future star in Favors.

Kanter doesn’t make us champions this year and I think you have to know that he can shoulder the weight before giving him a chance to shine. I know thats what Bynum had to do. Lets not forget that even if took 3 years to get Kanter where he needs to be he’ll be 23 years old which menas he has a good 10+ years ahead of him more than likely. I don’t think its a stupid idea at all. Its the same question as Dwight… How would we keep him after this year?

Like everything on these boards, there’s like less than a 5% chance of these things happening, but its still fun to think about.

  11. Jake says:

The professional… You aren’t professional at all just a hypocrite and a downer calling everyone names and shooting down their ideas.

Ben… You should be embarrassed for yourself since you’re posting and letting everyone know how embarrassed someone should be to share their ideas. you’re not helping anything just causing issues and throwing jabs. Sounds like arrogance and little man syndrome.

Chris – None of this stuff typically happens so let the guy say what he wants. We need bigger and better players, but Utah will always struggle to get superstar talent without risky situations like a trade with a contract expiring, or the draft. The alternative is to just be good enough to compete but never win championships. Go back to the whole squad we had with d-will and boozer… we were pretty stacked and couldn’t even compete in the western conference. The spurs happened to draft superstar talent and won with that talent. thats how they kept the talent together.

LK Anderson – Be nice and join the conversation don’t put others down for sharing their ideas. Argue your point if you want… nothing wrong with that, but don’t be like the other tools that team up and make themselves better by putting everyone else down. They probably all live in their parents basement at 40 years old and still are virgins.

  12. L.K.Anderson says:

Yes but make a logical trade suggestion. Most trades that will fit the qualifications and are fair yes go for it. This trade would be wonderful for the Magic but rapes the Lakers and Jazz.

  13. This is a stupid idea but, why does everyone say that no one will come to utah. Its crazy, im sick of hearing jazz fans say that no one will come here. Players act like they do with any other team. If you have a chance to make a title run or have the money to afford them players usually show up no matter where its at. D will didnt fit in well in utah but, he was here how long? along with a bunch of other players thatt came through utah. Andrew is also a good fit for a utah system i big burser guy that gets rebounds and takes up space fit are system perfectly.

  14. will the STUPIDITY ever end?
