That we would benefit from guys who moved around rather than sat around watching All in the post, hoping for an outlet pass rather than getting somewhere he could pass it to them. Some would even say we have a log jam that keeps our young guys, from getting much needed experience. Well, lets focus on the point for this post.
Been a while since I’ve been on, so this may just be a repeat of some other post. What can we do about getting us a good PG. He doesnt have to be an all star, even though Chris Paul could definately help the team. So, there are trade possibilities, the draft, and free agency. Who’s available?

Trade possibilites? Who wants to get rid of a good PG? Do you think that Mo Williams and Al Jefferson to Portland for Damion Lillard, Meyers Leonard, and a draft pick would work? Ha ha, right.
So how do we land a good PG, or two? Who do you think?

Today at noon (Eastern) all contracts become guarenteed for the rest of the season. About a dozen players league wise have been realeased the last week. Rumor has Boston going after Cousins. Problem is (like all teams) they don’t want any of their good players to go just trash.. If a player does not fit their needs it would not work. That is why AL for a decient point might be in the works. I think both Tinsley and Murphy have non-guatenteed contracts. I say they keep Murphy and dump Tinsley. Remember the waivers must come by Ten our time today. Stay tuned..
Carroll is non-guarenteed also but I am sure they will keep him.
No player personnel change will help until the dumb a** in the suit becomes a real coach.
@Kevin – EXACTLY. We have the talent on our roster RIGHT NOW to be well above .500, but we’re not. Mr. I-Play-Veterans-Over-Superior-Raw-Talent Corbin. What good are ANY trades going to do at this point when you have a guy at the helm who doesn’t know how to use what he’s already got?
@Patrick: good post. I think we can all agree that PG is a big area of need, especially now that Mo is out, but even when he’s healthy its an area we need to look at. A traditional PG would be good, but they are so few and far between. We have the pieces to move to get a decent PG, but actually getting one is easier said than done.

Damian Lillard, Kyrie Irving, Jrue Holiday, Kemba Walker….already parts of a rebuild.
Goran Dragic…..overrated?
Greivis Vasquez….is the guy for real?
George Hill….maybe, but don’t think Indiana is too motivated to move him.
The draft has some PG’s, but no superstars. I like Phil Pressey a lot, but I’m not sure if he’s got the strength to play D and handle an 82 game NBA schedule.
I’m very interested to see who the Jazz FO would target. While Mo is a good piece to have on the team, I don’t think he is the long-term answer at PG.
It’s unfortunate that this is a very poor year for point guards in the draft and in free agency.

Chances Rajon Rondo will play here given a max deal? 0
Chances Portland will let go of Lillard? 0
Chances Cavaliers will let go of Irving? 0
Chances Wizards will let go of Wall? 50/50. But is Wall really that good? He was playing extremely poorly and was getting a lot of criticsim for his attitude before his injury.
If we wanted a point guard we should’ve looked to acquire one after the Deron Williams trade in 2011.
What is everyone’s thoughts on Shved? I don’t know what to think of the guy. Is he an up and comer or a forever bench guy?

I am hesitant to get too high on Shved. It seems like every year we talk about some new PG that surprised people around the league, and we get suckered into thinking they are the answer. Same thing happened with Goran Dragic. I highly doubt Minny will give up Shved.

I LOVE the idea of giving Machado a shot, but only if we can clear Raja Bell and Watson off our roster first. I just know even if we got Machado, Corbin would put him on the DNP’s
Watson looks like a permanent fixture with the Jazz.

Thats the only explanation for why Watson has gotten consistent minutes.

Hate to see injuries but fakers Howard, Gasol out for at least two games.
Ten day contract now in force.Teams can sign a player for one or two ten dayers. Then either keep them or release them. After the second it is either stay or go for the season.
If Jazz trade more players than they get back they they could try Machado or Mack for that ten day period.Just hope at least Bell, Watson/Tinsley go with the trade. Tinsley and Carroll contract now good for the year.

@Omar: CJ hot sister has gotten some good mialage. Was that the same one who smacked AL up the side of the head last year??
Whoever it was, Al paid dearly. I like Al, but that has been a priceless treasure of a punchline many times. I remember one game I kept thinking……..”Even Al’s violent girlfriend would be proud of him”. And other times……”I hope Al’s girlfriend gives him the ‘what-for’ after that performance”.
