The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.Lets look at the Jazz in a couple yrs.
Favors C/PF
Kanter C/PF
Hayward SG/SF
Burks PG/SG
Its easy to see that the gaps we have are at the PG and SF. Looking at the trades that are out there, and potential partners, are there any real players or possible trades that we could want? We have trade pieces, but does anyone have young pieces that can grow with our young core? Lets face it, our face will change again next season, its time to build, but whats really out there?
I know many would like to see Sap and or Al stay, but is it realistic? Our core will be looking for a raise pretty soon, so wouldnt more young guys be helpful? How about draft picks, could we swap out our trade pieces for worth while draft picks?
A few interesting prospects filling our needs would be Muhammad Shabazz SF predicted top 4, Otto Porter SF predicted 6th to 18th, Michael Carter Williams PG predicted 7th – 10th, Trey Burke PG predicted 8th – 21st, and Myck Kabongo PG predicted late first round.
Utah Jazz draft picks are currently 17th and 24th so that leaves most of them out.
Current possible trade and current draft picks that could be available; Orlando 4th, New Orleans 5th, Detroit 9th, Minnisotta 10th, Dallas 11th, Charlott 14th, Boston 15th, Atlanta 16th.
Doesnt look all that encouraging, does it. Its probably why we stand pat through the trade deadline. Thoughts?

First of all glad to see you back posting Patrick.
Bell will be gone that is the only for sure thing. I think Watson has lost it and should be gone as well. I hate to say it but sometimes I wish he would get injured again. He or his agent must have been given a promise to get the minutes he is getting now.Depending on money Mo will probably resign at least long enough to train a new point guard. Tinsley is probably 50/50 stay or go. Foye has made more threes than any other Jazzman at this point of the season. I would give him another one to two years.
I hope Al will be traded at the deadline and get something in return. Sap would not be able to start on any other team and could make the most money by resigning with the Jazz.If another big is not broght in for Al Favors could then start. Favors and Kanter need at least thirty minutes per game.I thought Marvin would do better than he has. Think he has a player option as well. Carroll also has a 50/50 chance of staying. I cannot see the Jazz doing nothing at trade time and letting all the free agents walk. I would like to see a different starting shooting guard.Would like to see Tinsley gone and Foye and Burks taking up the backup at both guard positions. If Jazz make playoffs and do well I could see them keeping corbin. If not I think he is gone also. Also if not by trade get at least one young point guard in the draft..
I would love to trade with Philly and fill the void at PG and SF with J Holiday and E Turner (or D Wright). This would leave Philly with S Mack at PG and T Young and D Wright. Philly is weak at PF so we trade Millsap, Evans and Tinsley
Holiday / Burks / Hayward / Favors / Kanter
(Draft) / Murphy / Turner / ? /. ?
Actually, once the core 4 become starters I’m not sure it wouldn’t hurt to keep D Carroll on the roster as a backup SF. I respect his willingness to hustle and mix things up a little. Also I’m in no hurry to get rid of Foye. Unless Burks maintains his niche as a slasher who takes it to the rim, I’m not at all impressed with his shooting. I wish we had a crystal ball because I would be ok moving him now based on the little I’ve seen from him so far
