Whats left on the Free Agent Tree?
Posted by: Patrick on July 12th, 2012
The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz. The following is a list of who that is worth anything is left on the Free agent tree. This is of course according to the free agent tracker, and could be wrong. All but two of the following are UFA. If we tossed the last of the dead weight, is there anyone you want to see? I dont think its too bad a list for bench depth. Did I miss anyone who isnt over the hill, or way out of our price range?
DJ Augustin G 29 min .37, .34, 2.3 rb, 6.4 ast, .8 st, 11.1 ppg
Aaron Brooks G 21 min .37, .29, 1.5 rb, 3.8 ast, .6 st, 11.6 ppg

Aaron Gray C 16 min, .51, 5.7 rb, .6 ast, .4 st, .4 blk, 3.9 ppg
It was rumored several days ago that the nets were looking to make a huge 4 team deal, they just needed someone’s 1st round pick for Brooks. Would you pull that trigger?

Nets are done on the trade front.
Augustin is signed with the Pacers. They are also going to offer Green around 3 years 16 mil. McGee is getting an average of 10 mil a year. Aaron Gray has re signed with the Raptors. Farmar is going to Turkey. Mayo might get a max from Phoenix once they lose Gordon to NO
I had similar thoughts last night and I dont think there are any left I’d be overly excited to get
It is funny how fast this list of unsigned free agents turns into a list of signed free agents. Augstin is the only one that was interesting but Pacer management obviously thought the same thing.
Going going gone. I was looking at a list of the top 40 free agents for this season. I think they are all signed. Funny thing is, look at Atlanta and a few other teams. What did they get out of this off season. Oh, yeah, cap space.

Sorry about the guys who are gone. Was just using the free agent tracker, which seems to be out dated, or maybe they wait until the contract is completely signed.
No big deal I think they wait till it is official
Luis Scola has apparently been amnestied by Houston. Seriously, what is Houston doing? It’s like they are trying to suck.
Anyway, what would you bid on Scola?
But Patrick, there are two very important players missing from your free agent list! JOSH HOWARD AND CJ MILES!!!!! hahaha those two scrubs can’t even get signed by the Bobcats lol.
Freaking Josh Howard. What an arrogant loser. All ego, no contribution. 29% from the field in the playoffs. PATHETIC! That scrub’s all “Yeah man I’m Josh Howard! I’m so good there’s like 15 teams that want me, man. I’m such an amazing player. Look I came back from injury! I mean how great am I?”
Don’t even care about Josh Howard, but I AM wondering what CJ Miles has been up to. Bet he’s sorry now that he burned the only organization willing to give him a chance.
Last I heard he was talking to the Mavs. But I don’t think that panned out.
@KC: I know! I could NOT believe they amnestied Scola! That guy has been nothing short of amazing for the Rockets. Apparently, they think they can still sign Howard, even though he’s said repeatedly he would not sign an extension with them.
They literally traded their entire team! No Scola, no Lowry, no Dragic, no Budinger, No Lee (most likely)…what the hell are they thinking???
Can you imagine being a Hawks fan right now?
lol note to self: don’t drink before posting or else the Hawks and Rockets magically morph into the same team…..
Korver, who, is not, yet, a FA, isn’t on your list.
DeMarre apparently has a team option, which the Jazz have not yet picked up.
I’d take Kyle, instead of DeMarre, if his option is declined or a trade could be made.
The Bulls have already declined their option on Ronnie Brewer and CJ Watson. If they can’t make a trade, it’s probable that Kyle becomes a UFA too, but he’ll have higher interest than his teammates.
He’s currently at $5m, and the Jazz MLE is $5m, still keeping them out of the luxury tax.
Would he accept a 2 year deal? Would his asking price be lower than $5m? Would Ty get with the program and emphasize the 3, instead of suppressing it?

@ Jazzaholic – I read earlier that the Wolves are looking at a sign and trade for Korver. Ty isn’t a good coach and therefore want get with any program
Demarre was very active last season and changed games for us. Do you think it was just so he could get a contract and then sluff off?
The Bulls have traded Korver to the Hawks.
Hey folks, the rockets just waived Luis Scola. I’m new here and i don’t know how it works well, but could be manage to clean up the salary cap and get him? Another suggestion…Barbosa, what do u guys think about him?
@Rossi. Barbossa is good, and he is a guard. So that’s feasible. But we already have more forwards than we know what to do with, so Scola wouldn’t work unless we trade one of our bigs.
@ jazzaholic , you nailed it! We are in trouble the way we use our SF spot. We now have alot of talent that should cover the 3. Hayward, Marvin, Millsap, Evans. Corbins got to figure it out. Especially if we could somehow land Iggy for Big Al.
