2013 Free AGENTS

4 FREE AGENTS THE JAZZ SHOULD TARGET (asking prices are based on the Jazz having to pay top dollar )

J J HIXSON – AVERAGING 13 PTS 10.5 BOARDS IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES THIS SEASON FOR THE BLAZERS (ASKING PRICE 2013 OFFSEASON 4 YEARS 34 MIL)

PATTY MILLS- AUSTRALIAN PG PHENOM WITH A PLAYER OPTION FOR THE SPURS EARNING 1 MIL (ASKING PRICE 2013 OFFSEASON 3 YEAR 9 MIL)

JARRET JACK- EARNING 5.6 MIL FOR A ONE YEAR SALARY WITH GOLDEN STATE (ASKING PRICE 2013 OFFSEASON 4 YEARS 28 MIL) I love his game

RANDY FOYE-  EARNING 2.5 MIL THIS YEAR WITH THE JAZZ (ASKING PRICE 2013 OFFSEASON 3 YEARS 16 MIL)

DEMARE CARROL- EARNING squat.  (ASKING PRICE 2013 OFFSEASON 3 YEARS 7.5 MIL)

SIGNING ALL OF THESE GUYS WILL COST US ROUGHLY 28 MIL THE NEXT 3-4 SEASONS.  BUT MAYBE WE COULD SIGN 3 OR 4 OF THEM at around 20 mil over the next 3 seasons.

If we do, it will leave us room to sign Hayward and Favors to big deals in the 2014 offseason, and hope to that if Burks and Kanter turn out to be superstars, that by 2015 we have assets we can trade.  Jack, Foye, Hixon, Demare, Mills- These guys are great role players. Put them in the mix with our (CORE 4!) and we have a pretty sweet team going forward.  Keep in mind that after Marvin Williams’ 7.5 mil contract for 2013-14 expires, the team will not have any bad contracts on the books and be able to decide going forward on hayward and favors contracts.

Yes, I know it is a flawed plan.  The asking price is too much to sign more than a couple of them, but I do like these players.  Maybe we can get a deal 2-3 of them. In addition to signing those 2-3 players, LETS HOPE THE JAZZ DO A SIGN AND TRADE WITH MILSAP OR JEFFERSON AT THE END OF THE SEASON TO GET ASSETS IN RETURN.  IF NOT, WHY THE HELL DIDN’T THEY TRADE JEFFERSON/MILSAP FOR FUTURE TALENT?!  I must add it wouldn’t hurt to tank it next year in order to get a fresh draft pick 2014.

THIS MY FRIENDS WILL LOCK DOWN SOME NEW, YOUNG, HIGH VALUE, VETERAN ASSETS ON THE CHEAP IN PLACE OF JEFFERSON AND MILSAP.  I LIKE ALL 4 OF OUR CORE 4.  I SEE 2-3 OF THEM BEING ALLSTARS IN THEIR CAREERS.  EACH OF THEM HAS THE CHANCE TO BE.   THIS IS THE WAY.  FOLLOW ME JAZZ NATION INTO THE ABYSS OF FUTURE MEDIOCRE SEASONS IN HOPES TO SNAG A CHAMPIONSHIP THE SLY WAY

Although he is a RFA, I would add Jeff Teague to this list. With Atlanta dealing with the drama that is Josh Smith, maybe we could steal him away.

We as Jazz fans are certainly spoiled in talking about what a drag it is to constantly be a playoff team. Ask HOU/GS fans if they are excited about being “mediocre.”

Yes, YES, Yes, Yes and Yes. I agree on all counts. At the moment I hope that the FO arent stupid enough to re-sign Sap or Al for more than 10 mil, preferably not at all. I was disappointed by no moves at the deadline but i will give the FO til the beginning of next season before I get the knives out. I think Hickson will be expensive but worth it, Mills is the most underrated player in FA this summer. I would love to buy a Patty Mills Jazz Jersey and see more Jazz stuff shown in Australia. Foye and Carroll are no brainers and the fact GS play Jack and move Curry to the 2 spot show his quality.

Do we know who the other bigs are in FA that we could get to replace Sap and Al in the rotation next season?

So long as Jazz dont overpay Sap and/or sign Al, maybe even let Mo walk. Id take Mills and the PG we draft over Mo and Watson in a heartbeat!! And have Hickson as a bench big than resigning Al!
