Does anyone think getting Howard would be possible? I was looking at espn’s trade machine and there would most likely have to be a third team facilitator. But imagine Dwight Howard and Favors on the low post – no team would score at the rim again. Ever. They would get every rebound. The rims would live in constant fear of being ripped off from some thunderous slam.
We have good assets in Jefferson/Millsap and some young guys - expiring contracts with a couple players as well. Certainly more than other teams that have been after him. The key I think would be to keep Favors. Keeping Howard would be a problem, but he’s just as tradeable in a year if he doesn’t re-sign. Obviously he has a lot of baggage in the form of drama and that back injury but…discuss!
Go Jazz.

We can all dream. I just hope Favors turns out to be as good as Howard with none of the baggage. Oh and Favors falls in love with SLC and never leaves.
Is Howard possible for us to land?
Why would we go for him when he will not sign an extension and he gets money from his show company to be in either New York or L.A??
I bet if we send Kanter, Hayward and our two 1st rounders next year we can get him. Maybe we have to send Sap also. I dont see any reason to do that though unless he signs a 5 yr extension right away. I might do that. I dont know about KOC though.
Well I don’t want Howard because he is a superstar and I hate superstar idea?
Kinda’ reminds you of the dumb and dumber quote:
“so you mean we’ve got a chance” to paraphrase.
I think Kevin has done a fantastic job of waiting for everyone to over pay and then picking up some reasonably priced talent. In fact, the Jazz might have too much talent to develop the talent they already have.
Jazzaholic
sigh…
You might be right about too much talent Jazzaholic. Not sure Corbin knows how to develop young players either way.
Howard is a douche and I dont want him on the Jazz roster.
@Jazzaholic Exactly! Corbin wont know which way to go with his lineups. I predict Foye and Millsap majorly pissed off by allstar break and or Favors and Burkes walking away from the jazz when contract years come.
KOC did better than my expectations with adding talent to the roster. But lineups are Corbin’s weakest coaching ability. I was really hoping to just have a defined roster this season that would be so obvious that he wouldnt need to sabotage himself with experimentations all season.
Im still baffled about signing Evans. He didnt play Evans last year. why would he now?
@Disco Yes Howards is a douche. I wish there was a Diva penalty in the NBA. Like… “sorry Dwight the vote is in, youve just been a total bitch. Penalty: complete a 3 month D League contract before any NBA negotiations can continue.”
@Jazzed – Vote him off the island
I dream that we never even consider getting Dwight.
i’m with you Kevin, Dwight is a stupid kid, and not even a star you can count on in the money time, with his absence of shooting and FT…….
I agree with French Dude. Howard is an elite defensive stopper, but I think he’s overvalued as some superstar, which to me, he’s not. He’s probably the best interior defensive big, but he’s not a guy who can carry you through playoff series. He hasn’t improved his offensive game, hasn’t improved his free throws. If he hooked up with some elite scorers on a team, though, that would be perfect for him, but he still thinks he’s ‘the man’.
I would rather go for a guy like Serge Ibaka or bismich biombo( sorry for spelling) because they are still the defensive power house but don’t demand the ball on the offensive end the Jazz have great scorers they just need an energy guy who can get the hussle points and cause havoc. To bad Jeremy Evans is was to small to be that player.
Favors too me looks like he takes a pride in the defensive aspect of the game, if he continues in that vein he may well end up a future defensive man of the year candidate himself. The question is can he develop an offensive game to match it, if he can why would we want Dwight Howard here? I like him as a player but he comes at a price, there is a circus that comes with Howard, whether it him personally, or his Agent or those around him I’m not sure but Favors doesn’t come with that. Neither does he come with the paycheck. Yes he still has to prove himself, but he has the potential to be the cheap man’s Dwight without all the drama.
With the amount of money floating around for contracts this year, I think it will be pretty difficult to hold onto Derrick Favors when the time comes in a few years, Jazz better start saving up. I would not want the drama that is Dwight Howard here.
