Just a quick one

Just thinking…

During the game last night they made reference that the Jazz would be a much better team next year and develop Favors better if we got a big man coach.

While watching ESPN today they did an interview with Karl Malone and he said he is still interested in becoming involved in some sort of way with coaching in the NBA…are the Jazz even considering getting a big man coach and if they are would Karl be a good fit for us.  I mean he knows what the Jazz need and can give our big men a new sense of tenacity and confidence in my opinion.

Malone won’t consider being involved with the Jazz until his son is done with High School (2 years).

So the Jazz have no reason to think about Malone now.

  2. I think Malone could benefit the Jazz as a strength coach.

@Andrew, I know that’s what he said, but if that’s the case, why does he keep telling the press (NBA, ESPN, Deseret News, SLT) that he’s very interested in being involved with the Jazz? He also said he would love to coach here during a game while on the TV with Bolerjack. It’s just something to speculate, I’m not saying he will come sooner, but it does beg the question, why keep making reference to it?

Actually Andrew you are wrong this time. I was behind the bench the night of Ty’s first night. Malone was in the house. He was making reference to coaching. He also said that the Jazz knew how to contact him that he is a phone call away.

I think that he would be willing and available to do what Hornicek did, come in here and there and be a temp coach or big man consultant type.. That would hopefully seal a seat on the bench for him when the boy leaves the house.. Anyone else hear something?

  5. Andrew says:

@Patrick He has stated in Interviews when asked about coaching of some sort with the Jazz that he’s very interested but wants to wait 2 years because his son is playing football in High School and does not want to miss his games. I guarantee that he won’t be on the Jazz staff until his son is done with High school.

I would like for the Jazz to employ Karl Malone as our Developmental Coach for the BIGS (I think that is in line on what Ty Corbin also mentioned). In that way too, the Team won’t take much of his time away from his family compared to working as one of the Assistant Coaches.

Ty may wait until end of this season to offer the job to Malone.

  7. Jupit Crush says:

    Let’s just draft Malone again.

Just relaying what I heard in an in game interview Andrew. I heard him say that about the High school stuff too, but football is only a couple months long in the fall months.. I will agree we wont see him full time for two yrs, but I think we might see him off and on for the next couple yrs. Guess time will tell for sure though..

  9. Andrew says:

Why not look at Hakeem Oloujawon? He seems to go around helping whoever wants him too. Would it really hurt to bring him in a couple of times a month?

Ya i just think that the jazz need somebody that can come in and get evans some weight on him for one and get him a better inside game and hopefully get all our bigs better on defense in the post
