….just not this season. I am very optimistic about the moves our front office have made this off-season, very optimistic indeed. Unfortunantley the Lakers have gotten better, older yes, but i think Kobe still has a couple more seasons of dominating the NBA before LA is rebuilding. LA will be the team to beat for the West for a couple more seasons…..which is perfect for us. I may be thinking too ideally, but for the sake of my argument, lets say AJ is happy here and we are happy with him, he hits his stride as a 22 and 12 type player, we upgrade through AK or resign AK for lots less (both positive possiblities), Deron Williams stays a Jazzman, CJ miles in his prime, Milsap in his prime, Hayward, we finally get an answer to our center position…..you get where i’m going with this right? with the current line up, we have a slim shot at getting hot and going all the way, being realistic. but in a couple of seasons, when our young core is in its prime, and LA is rebuilding, the Spurs have maybe one more season before they start from scratch, Dallas is in the same, (which is funny about the rumors DWill in Dalls, if he wants to win, thats one of the worst places he would go in 2 years). there will be teams like Portland and OKC that will hit their stride about the sametime as we do, but i personally would welcome a competitive Western Conference Finals between us and Portland/OKC. and between us, OKC and Portland, in 3 seasons, if all 3 teams kept their core line ups, i like us. OKC will be tough, but its never going to be an easy road to a championship. I just really hope we can get Jerry Sloan a ring. And i think we can, it will be our window in a couple seasons. Someone just please tell Deron Williams that, unless he pulls a Lebron on us and stacks a team, i think staying with Utah will be one of the best options to win by the time his contract expires.
