  1. Bleacher Report does not have a lot of substance to it. Aldridge would be a great fit, but after the season he had, Portland will not be trading him.

  2. That would be sweet, but it has just as much credibility as any of our posts on 360.

  3. Patrick says:

That doesnt work for either team. I could see Harris, for say Mathews, Babbit, and or 21st pick. But they wont let go of Aldridge. I doubt that both Millsap and Harris go to the same place. You could see Millsap go to Cleveland for the 4th pick and the trade exception or Millsap and Okur for 4th pick, Sessions, and a second round pick. You may see Millsap go to several teams, Sacramento, Indiana, Cleveland etc etc.

Patrick hit the nail on the head. This doesn’t even make sense for the Jazz, why trade Millsap for Aldridge when the reason for trading Millsap is that we have the PF of the future in Favors? Aldridge would be less willing to come off the bench than Millsap.

  5. Shane says:

I like the smaller pieces of this proposed trade, Fernandez & Batum. Wouldn’t mind parting ways with CJ or Raja in order to get one or both of these players.

  6. JAZZ KING says:

That is the most un fair trade I have ever seen how can any ove think that the jazz get the better end of the deal we get a guy that may have to retire because of crappy knees and a back up point guard awful trade koc if not that stupid. That just makes the bleacher report just report loads of crap

  7. L.K.Anderson says:

If you believe the Bleacher report then you believe The Enquiring Editor. Hoopsworld report says Lakers Gasol to Wolves for Love and 2nd pick. Let’s hope not. The numbers don’t match up. Gosol will be getting around 18 Mil next year compared to Love below five mil. The pick ain’t worth that much. Portland ain’t givin up Alderage.

  8. Colby says:

You have to keep in mind that this guy is writing from a hypothetical situation because e heard that the Jazz were thinking about trading Harris and Millsap. So he decided to write about a trade he came up with in his own head, he isn’t writing about trade rumors that he has heard….it technically isn’t even speculation. It’s purely an opinion column. BR.com causes too many problems from people misinterpreting the posts as fact or relay of actual information and forget that it is just everyday people posting what they feel like off the top of their head. It is considered too credible of a source when it is the complete opposite.

  9. If/when the Jazz make a trade I hope they look for some second round picks. This is the kind of draft where a second round pick could easily be as good as anyone from Pick 15-30.
We all know the Jazz have had amazing luck in the 2nd round, and with quite a few players out of contract and questionable to return (Fes, Elson, Watson, AK) it couldn’t hurt to take a risk on 1 or 2 late picks. Players like Goudelock, Ben Hansborough, Marshon Brooks, Tobias Harris (if he dropped) could all be strong role players and have the potential to be stars over time.

The Lakers have 4 2nd rounds picks, perhaps we could offer them Raja Bell (who they wanted so badly last year) for a couple?

  10. Patrick says:

Cavs have two as well. I like your picks though.

This is not saying that the Jazz get Aldrige at all. All that this report is saying is that the Blazers would be getting an upgrade over Aldridge. I am ok with this deal if the Jazz don’t have to give up the 12th pick. I think that getting Roy, Fernandez (Two great shooters when healthy), and the 21st pick and giving up Harris and Millsap would make sense for the Jazz. Utah is already saying the Millsap would either be sitting the bench or playing the SF position which he would not be comfortable with, and even though I am still not sold on Brandon Knight, he could end up being a good replacement for Harris anyway. This would allow the Jazz to get Knight (3) Freddette (12) and a decent rebounder with number 21.

  12. Woody Palmer says:

i would rather get picks next year not more for this year

  13. L.K.Anderson says:

    @pirate:
give a source on “Utah is already saying the Millsap would either be sitting the bench or playing the SF position which he would not be comfortable with.” By Utah to you mean the Jazz or fans in general? Corbins comments were a whole lot different.

  14. Adam says:

Here’s the problem with saying a Utah – Portland trade is in the works. Teams aren’t allowed to make trades right now and with the CBA expiring at the end of the month, my guess is that it will be a while before teams are allowed to start trading and signing players.

  15. pirate7212 says:

    http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700127819/Utah-Jazz-Paul-Millsaps-future-position-with-Jazz-unknown.html

Favors is larger and did better at the end of last season, so he will be the starter at the PF, and the Jazz still don’t have a true Center so Jefferson will be Starting at the C. The entire organization likes Millsap, but he is undersized as a starting PF, so he will either be coming off the bench, or he will be moving to the SF position which he may excell at, but a transition to that position may also not work out.

  16. L.K.Anderson says:

Trades are allowed. I don’t know exactly when but during the draft they have always been done. Most of them will be lined up and will take place “if” everything lines up according to whatever agreement has been made. A lot of trades will be done until June 30 when the current CBA contract ends..

  17. Patrick says:

LK is correct, unless I have missed something. It happens, but from what I understand, teams are allowed to start trading as soon as their season ends. Everyones season is over with. The old CBA is in effect until the end of this month. So trades will continue to happen.

Next, there are talks of even more trades than usual because of the upcoming lockout. Two major reasons, first many teams are worried about a supposed hard cap. Second, who wants to be in the Jazz’s position, 10 guys under contract with very limited time to put a team together prior to the start of next season, after the new CBA is in position? Without a pre season, you cannot even hardly greet new team members let alone have any idea of how to put your offense and defense together without knowing who you have.. Can you say total chos? Look for many teams to be set and ready to go, with very little happing as next season finally gets under way.

  18. L.K.Anderson says:

@pirate: Looked at the DN article and to me it said there are lots of different choices that can be made but nowhere did I see where anything was written in stone.

  19. Colby says:

Sounded like Millsap didn’t mind playing the 3 but was a power forward at heart. I see playing Millsap at the 3 position with Favors on the floor is just basically playing two powerforwards together, one just has better outside game and can still rebound great. You don’t have to look at him at a small forward. Just like Chuck Hayes really isn’t a center, he just plays in the 5 spot due to his defense.

  20. The Dude says:

First off, NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING you read from Bleacher report. Any idiot can post on that sight, and it is a complete pile of SHART! 2nd off, the Jazz are not going to trade anybody or anything. THe only thing they are going to do is screw up 2 lottery picks and then tell us to wait 2 years to evaluate the picks. Fire O’Connor, the guy is a joke.
