Trade Machine……

K I think these trade machines are kinda dumb, but here I am with a proposal.

The Hornets are one of the teams with a lot of cap room coming up this off season.  In this trade they take on two more expiring contracts in Millsap and Bell, and receive the very talented  Burks.  In return we get a good young point guard in Vasquez and the very skilled Eric Gordon (who doesn’t want to be in New Orleans anyway).  So the Hornets get Gordon’s 4 year contract off, and have the option to throw some money at Millsap in the off season or let him walk.  Seems like both teams get a good deal.  Although hard to give up Burks, Gordon is already on the cusp of stardom IF he stays healthy.  I realize the trade isn’t flawless, but what are your thoughts?

Probably my favorite trade I’ve seen on here.

  2. good idea, that could be awesome … one of the more realistic trade ideas I have read

  3. Steve says:

if Gordon were completely healthy, i’d think about it. But he’s only played 4 games total and 4 out of the last 5 games, he didn’t play on the back end of a back to back. His health is too big of a concern and vasquez isn’t that good to make me say yes.

Besides, why would you want to trade burks now?

  4. And what makes you think the.hornets would go for this? We would have to give up more than that. Maybe.if.you found a way to trade al and.paul they would do it. But milsap bell and burks wont get you vasquez and gordon. I like the thought going for rudy gay if he.would stay in utah for a few years

  5. Dean Davies says:

Eric Gordon is a great player but he isnt going to be “100 %” until he is playing for a team he likes.

  6. disco says:

Didnt they just sign Gordon to a max contract, fending off a max contract from the Suns? Pretty sure they dont want to trade him

  7. Jamezz says:

Sorry man, can’t give up on Burks as for right now. There’s still so much in seeing what he can end up bringing to the table. Besides, we can do better on the PG position. Grey Vasquez, really…?

  8. Steven says:

I wouldn’t give up Millsap and Burks for a player thats barely played any games in 2 seasons. Don’t get be wrong I like Eric Gordon a lot and I thought Hornets got a good player when they signed him, but Phoenix must be happy that they missed out on him. His injuries have just been too severe to take that risk.

  9. Ben Williams says:

Jamezz and Seven: I’m very happy you have zero power within the jazz organization. Not that human error is to be expected, but saying no to this trade truly is pure idiocy. Gordon is one of the top 4 sg’s in the nba. His injury is done. He’s fine. Burks?? Not even in the same universe as Gordon and he never will be. I will bet $1000.00 right now that Burks will never be half the player Gordon is. I base this off of %’s, deep statistics, and plain old history.

Millsap is gone after this year. Giving him and burks for gordon is not enough. It’s not even close. This trade is great….for the jazz, but NO is NOT going to give gordon up for such little value just because he may not like playing there.
