What are the solutions?
Posted by: Jazzmanfan on November 9th, 2012
The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.We need to leverage the assets we have. KOC always talks assets. In our small market I believe the Jazz management have an extra difficult task of building a championship team. If we draft a star we can’t keep him, if we happen to bring in a nice free agent (Booz and Okur) they’re not good enough. It is more difficult than I think we can comprehend without being behind the scenes. John and Karl were a different breed, brought up in a different time and way of thinking. If they were being drafted in this day it may be a different story. They (even our perfect John) may have even got caught up in the big market movement.
So what is the solution? Can’t say that I have it. I believe what we have done recently can get us close, but it is hard to say it will get us all the way to the top. I do have some outside the box ideas though.
Don’t come at me like I’m wanting to trade the statues, but what if it takes trading one of our young studs. We as Jazz fans are extremely loyal, only asking for effort and playing Jazz basketball. We fall in love with these guys that work their tale off but simply don’t get us the results we want. To name a few DeMarre Carroll, Earl Watson, Matt Harpring, Jeff Hornacek, and the list goes on. What if a Derek Favors and Alec Burks, had to go to get a “B” level player or even an “A” level.
Obviously there is financial issues to figure out in any scenario, but my point being should we or could we part with our loved players if that meant getting a championship. Just writing this I question myself. Keep vets (Al) we have and trade off a young stud (Derek)? Really? With what seems like 8 or so players with such similar skill levels, can the depth we have overcome the lack of a true star. I hope so, but it’s never happened before. It seems to me that we have to find an “A” level player. Whether it’s the developing of our youngs or trading our vets. Keeping our vets is simply not the answer. Thoughts?

TRADE BIG AL!!!!!!!!!!!! (thats ur solution)
Koufos >than Al?! Wow. Lets trade Al
and fire Corbin he is ridiculous hornacek needs a shot
Big Al needs to go before his stock goes DOWN!
Big al for any decent back up point gaurd! Send Tinsley with him, he’s a joke. #firecorbin #freehornacek
Jefferson can’t be out of here soon enough. And yeah, get rid of Tinsley too. He’s a walking turnover machine.
As for Corbin, I’ve given him the benefit of the doubt since his hire, but I can’t defend him any more. He’s lousy. He should be fired ASAP, but it won’t happen. Instead the FO will wait this train ride out until it wrecks completely before making that kind of change.
Get used to the same old glaring problems lingering for a while, because Corbin isn’t going anywhere.
Jefferson needs to go. He is dragging this team town. I’ve heard the “he’s the only guy we can go to to make a shot!” argument for too long.
If the best player on your team (at least points/rebs)gets 10 rebounds and 10 points a game, YOUR TEAM SUCKS. Period.
If your “go-to guy” is under the league average in points per posession, YOU CAN’T COMPETE.
Well sorry guys I hate to say this but I dont think that Big Al is the goto guy anymore hence his low scoring . To me it looks like the offence has changed to accommidate the other new players . Both Big Al and Milsap have not played that well scoring wise that I can see .
As for Coach Corbin I am still givin him that benifit of the doubt because he looks like he is trying to expement with the players he has .
It also seams to me that most of the players are playin with no desire to win , that game last night was so sad to watch when it seamed that there was no energy on the floor .
There was some bright spots in Hayward and Favours tho . This team needs to learn to play together or it will not last in this tough Western Conference .
That is my 10 cents worth .
