Speaking of trades…just a question.

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz. The chatter on this forum currently is the need for the jazz making a trade. I thought I’d have fun with this and ask a “What if?” question. I’ve read a few articles that said back when okc was looking to trade harden they may have inquired into the jazz about who may have been available.
If the trade below was offered by okc, what would you have said? I know this trade can’t happen now, making it unrealistic, but really I see few trade proposals on this forum that are. I also wonder who okc possibly “inquired” about.. Anyway, here it is:
OKC gives: harden, Aldrich, and change (cook, or whatever other scrub)
Jazz give: Gordon Hayward, Enes kanter, our gs pick, and a future second round.

Do it in a heartbeat. As good as hayward and kanter are and will be, Harden is exactly the type of player we need and is better than hayward is now. Kanter would be tough to let go of, more for the fact that he’s a fan favorite than anything he does on the floor.
Harden is everything you want in a player. Shoots threes, handles the ball, creates for teammates and is a great passer, finishes aftet contact, is insanely efficient, and a great defender. At $80M over five years, thats a great player, and I would give up Gordon, Enes and picks for that.
No way!!! Because of Corbin we are not seeing how awesome Hayward is. Harden is playing 40 minutes per game and taking 22 shots to get 34 points.
Hayward is averaging 28 minutes, 9 shots to get 13 points.
Can we trade Al AND Corbin, and I bet Hayward and Kanter would be putting up good to great numbers.
No. That is to much. You do not give up two young players. Plus it would be Burks,Millsap and the picks. They would not get rid of Gordon instead of Burks. Burks is just rotting on the bench even other fans wonder where he is and wonder if they could trade for him. Our coaches and FO are just stupid
in a second … the Jazz are a mediocre team fighting to make the playoffs. Harden would suddenly become our best scorer, playmaker and defender – it would change everything.
A big trade has to happen – the Jazz are blowing it with the youth development
Even if Harden fell into our laps, he “wouldnt bring veteran leadership” so Id be surprise if he gets 20 minutes and with Al, if he gets 10+ shots.
@Dallan… Lets say that trade with hayward did happen, even with limited minutes here, we saw what he did in OKC with limited time and i would time his production over haywards all day. He’s a difference maker! When he’s on the floor good things happen! I guarentee Harden is an All Star this year, you wouldn’t trade Hayward for an All Star?
In a way… Your trading a 20 oz Mountain Dew for a 1 Liter Dewski. Same great taste, just more of it!
I would go for Al, Hayward, and GSW pick. As long as we were also working out something to get a pick or picks out of Millsap. Jazz are going to need picks. I still feel like Kanter is as untouchable as Favors. Kanter has range, size, intelligence, athleticism and fight. He and Favors are our best talent . not best players but best talent. they arent #3 picks for nothing.
Its time to move big Al
@Steve I am pissed if they trade Hayward because we are getting Harden. So you can not play Burks and Harden together. So then you just end up trading Burks. So it is not the fact that Hayward is involved it is the fact of positions. What is the smarter move? To move someone who can play the 3 or move someone who can play the 2?? We want starters. So if we got Harden I still want Hayward so they can start next to each other. And in NO WAY do I want Kanter in the same division cause then we keep Al and watch Kanter destroy him for eternity
I would have done this in a minute!
@Dallan .. I get what your saying and of course you do that, but if OKC wants Hayward over burks or else no deal, i’m not gonna say no. OKC did play Harden at SF quite a bit, i mean he is 220. My only point is that Hayward compared to Harden, there’s no way you turn that down
So then what do you do with the conglomerate of SF’s we have? Start Marvin or Hayward? What about Carroll?
@Omar – Dont be ridiculous, noone is going to trade for Corbin, not even the warriors. Id trade Jefferson. Burks and the picks for Harden.
HAHAHA @disco! ya and we are the team that gave him an extension?!
