Just read an article about Jerermy Lin might be trade towards the end of this season because he was overpaid and underperform in the rockets, not as “Linsanity” as he was once with the Knicks.

There was a rumor trading him for Big Al.
Any comment or view on this, could we benefit from this trade, we do need a good PG tough.

Love Jeremy Lin as a person, but only like his game. Theres not great PG options out there right now and he is an upgrade to Mo in my opinion. Hes the right personality for the jazz and we should be able to take on his conract ok while developing the youth so Linsanity might be ok
I don’t see the rockets trading him already and we can’t trade Al with out a sign and trade that means he would have to want to go to the rockets and Jefferson is making 16 mil on his current deal to Lins 8 mil I don’t see that deal ever working out, but but I’ve been wrong before
I’m not sure if I would classify Lin as better than Mo in general, but I do think his type of game fits with the young core better than Mo’s game, and he’s still young. Lin can create for others, he’s a willing passer, and he can drive and hit the three. In my opinion, he was hugely overhyped, but he’s probably only slightly overpaid. Consider that we paid Devin Harris $9M last year and Lin is making $8M.
It would more likely be a sign and trade with Paul Millsap, as the Rockets have eyed Paul before, and the salary matches up better. But like Andy said, its pretty early for them to bail on Lin and then what does Houston do at PG?
I was actually really hoping the Jazz would have gone after him last offseason when he was a free agent. He is TO prone, but his game has been underrated since he left New York and he is young. He is also the exact kind of guy the Jazz try to go for personality wise.
The only problem with JLin is his contract. While he is only making 5 million this year and next, the 3rd year of his contract he is making almost 15 million because of the poison pill contract. This would probably cause problems trying to resign Favors and Hayward that year as well.
I truly don’t think he fits in well as for making us a true contender in the future. I don’t have anything against the guy, but for some reason he wouldn’t make me feel safe, if that makes sense. I don’t think he’s consistent enough. Might get there, but not there yet and not something I would take for granted.
Best option in my opinion would be a young PG (i.e. via draft) to grow up along with our other young guys, schooled by a reliable vet PG. Not Mo though, I don’t think he would teach the kid all the good things. I’m thinking more of a true PG, the likes of Calderon. A young Calderon would work wonders for this team.
No Thank you..
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rockets decided to trade Lin, I think they set up his contract in such a way that if he didn’t pan out as the answer at PG for the Rockets they didn’t pay the price, rather the next team who picked him up in a trade did.
I still don’t think he is a number one PG option. I think he is a backup PG who can play some time as a starter when needed. Unfortunately there really aren’t too many good PG’s out there, hence the size of his contract.
I was hoping the Jazz went for him before the trade deadline, but nothing happened. If you actually watch his game, you should know that his inconsistency is due to the coaching, not because he lacks skills. Although, saying he is inconsistent is wrong. His starting numbers are around most of the starting point guards.
We can find someone better. Travis Leslie was a good pick up. Stong athletic PG’s can dominate in this league with weak hand check rules. Plus he was a back up to CP3 and Bledsoe. Not much of a chance for him in LAC
