  1. Jazz Man says:

Mo will help us spread the floor and hopefully provide leadership to some of our young guys. Good move IMO

  2. Omar says:

Ooohhh, I thought Jazz traded Bell, Al, and Watson and signed Batum.

  3. I would miss Tinsley if they won’t pick him up..Remember the 13 assist game last year? 1.3 mil…

  4. Batum I would realllly love to see in a Jazz uniform!

  5. XxHawsxX says:

This is great news! They also are picking up Carroll’s option as well, which means at least Miles or Howard are gone. Hopefully both…

  6. Henri says:

Utah has now the 47th regiment on the floor: Mo Williams, Paul Millsap, Kevin Murphy … all selected at 47th pick.

What about signing AK 47 back ?

  7. L.K.Anderson says:

@Henri: They are planning to do that during the “Days of 47 parade.”

  8. I would rather have a veteran PG playing with all of these young guys than a rookie PG. All of this talk about needing a PG of the future seemed pre-mature to me, I don’t want a young PG until I have some really good weapons surrounding him who can carry the load. I think the Mo/Harris combo is really going to be great for the development of the young guys.

  9. He will be everything Raja Bell should have been.

  10. disco says:

Wouldnt it be good to have a rookie Pg to learn from them. @ Omar deep breaths deep breaths

  11. Logan says:

I guess it would be good to have a young point guard that could take over in a couple of years because he would already know the offense and have some chemestry but to have a rookie point guard lead the team this year is not the right move I like the trade for Williams. Hopefully his number will be 8 so I don’t have to wear my jersey in shame.

  12. Omar says:

Hahaha @Disco, GSW got Barnes, Ezeli, Green, !!! Im gonna be upset for a while. GSW hit a homerun with a 7, 30, 35 picks, Green is super underrated.

I was okay cuz I thought Burks was gonna get a legit shot at PG, but Mo trade kills that…oh and DWILL is going to let us remember about trading him. Meanwhile, Kanter gets buried on the bench, again. And no Batum either, we have no money.

I feel like the day after XMas when everyone is playing with a lot of new toys and we got hand-me-downs and socks. Merry XMas….f***.

  13. Ray says:

With Harris and Williams, the Jazz will have two guards who can be PG or SG, especially when they’re both on the floor. Harris can drive to the basket. Williams can shoot the 3-ball. Good opportunity for Burks to learn from both.

With Williams on board, that’ll probably mean Tinsley won’t be resigned. To me, Tinsley played better than Watson coming off the bench.

In the meanwhile, I hope Hayward, Burks, Favors, and Kanter are becoming stronger, developing their foot speed/quickness, and adding to their repertoire.

  14. Tinsley is still being picked up.. Bye bye Burks playing time

  15. Browncoat says:

Well KOC is probably not done yet. I have to give probs to Miller for giving him the ability to make the moves and spend money. Surprised we are picking up more money right now.

Seeing these moves makes me real happy. We have some serious talent all around now.

  16. Logan says:

KOC is not done yet. Sounds like Jazz have 4 point guards now with the jazz picking tinsleys option. I think the Jazz are in for a couple trades at the point guard position and the PF or Center position. They just have too many players that need minutes at those positions. There will be some trades and if there is not I will be angry.

  17. Post your sources please.

  18. @LK: Tell me you’re joking right? Please tell me you’re joking. If we pick up Tinsley does that mean we’re hopefully trading or amnestying Earl Watson/ and or Raja Bell???

  19. The fact that Watson can’t make a wide open shot 6 feet away from the basket is unacceptable.

  20. Omar says:

How Bell and Watson are still with the Jazz is beyond me!!! Id take 2 late 2nd rounds for them, Id take 3rd round picks for them. Id trade one if them to the camp that invited Hollis Thompson just to send Thompson to the Jazz camp.

  21. Jake says:

I hope we keep Harris and Howard and have them work our 2nd unit. Watson will not get any playing time with with Harris and Willams as far as raja goes we can let him go him and cj and demarre

  22. John says:

Keep Howard and let demarre go? You really want to keep an injury prone and get rid of a defensive stud?

  23. Does anyone know where this Omar douchebag came from? (I know all of you were thinking it)

How unrealistic can a guy be thinking that someone would really pass on a top tier lottery pick in exchange for an undersized Milsap or expensive ball dominating center in Al? The only player that I think is potentially better than Paul is Davis and there was no way New Orleans was passing on him. Of course Gilchrist, Barnes, Beal or Lamb would have been nice additions but again we didn’t have assists anyone valued as much as we do. Would you trade Favors for one of those guys? Didn’t think so

Our best bet was to work a deal with Houston where they got Al and our 47th pick in exchange for Lowry (who they don’t want anyway) and one of their 3 picks between 12-18 so that we could have picked up John Jenkins who is the best outside shooter in the draft. Then if I were the GM I would add Ilyasova via FA to fill whatever void Al left. I’m sure KOC thought of several deals like this but the other Houstons of the world weren’t interested. The only heartburn I have is allowing Dallas to get better by giving them our trade exception to go after D Will.

We have recently added 2 outside shooters so far AND have improved at PG depth, 2 of the 3 things we sorely needed. Now we just need to get the best SF available

  24. Omar says:

HAHAHA @Kory!!!! Name calling?!! My comments must really be that powerful to conjure up such intense feelings?!! Hahaha. Dont hate me, I just keep it real. Last time I checked, there were 60 picks in a draft, so where you assumed (or missread actaully) thar I wanted to trade Favors for a top pick is pretty inaccurate, and by pretty, I mean absolutely, totally, completely wrong. Again Budinger =18th pick!!! You do realize we cannot sign any FAs until we free cap space right?!! You do realize that?! We actually drafted a top pick last year, you may have heard of him….uuhhhh…Cantar or something like that. Maybe we should play him some. Ohhh wait, their is only 96 minutes between C and PF, so until we trade Al Cather is going to get less than 10 minutes. And pointing that out makes me a [insert insulting name] then thats cool with me, cuz you Kory are a POO CACA FACE DUDDIE PANTS!!!

  25. pintz11 says:

@ omar lol.. Yeah wats wrong with kory lmao.. Robbie hummel will be something in this league.. See some budinger in him also if not for injuries would have gone higher.. Anyways right now we are full of guards and bigs. So what waste an amnesty on bell is stupid then watson is under contract.. who the gonna trade for him.. What has looked so promising for jazz fans has become a alot of head scratching.. I just cant see a trade for an established wing coming. Lowry chances are not looking good. That TE was an asset and now dallas holds it.. seems like most forget that williams is a high volume shooter and give me a break players learn from playing not watching in my opinion. this is not school work

  26. Omar says:

@pintz11 hahaha, people are cruel, hopefully we represent the silent majority. You have to give the guys a chance to grow by playing them, there is no other way that is more efficient. Hopefully they play well in SL. Bell and Watson should be package if we do trade Al or Harris. Ya I dont see the Lowry thing happening. We still have to address s weakness at the SF position, so hopefully something gets done sooner rather than later.

  27. Omar says:

*Duddie (as in Fuddie Duddie) is one of my contacts and common txt for me, should be Doodie.

  28. Omar says:

The Rockets are reportedly preparing a sign-and-trade offer for Eric Gordon, in which they’d send Kevin Martin and a package of young players to New Orleans. Hornets247.com reports that in addition to KevMart, Houston would give New Orleans their pick of 2-3 prospects, including Patrick Patterson, Jeremy Lamb, Royce White, Donatas Motiejunas, and Terrence Jones. It’s an interesting offer but so far there’s no reason to think it’s gaining traction.

Maybe we could get in on that somehow.
