I know I look stupid for posting something so… stupid. haha. but really is there no dedicated Jazz Bot that cannot throw a breakdown/stat sheet/your take on wtf happened in the game the night of? I love hearing about the shizznizzle 2 days later of course, but it breaks my balls beyond all reason to get home from an amazing performance where my pants are 2 inches shorter and there’s nothing decent to read on this website…

I remember last year, a non-Jazzbot was posting a nice little recap of every game which would sort of start a post game discussion, I believe it was Jason C

Impressed with: CJ’s effective scoring(we’ll see if he’s a little more consistent this year)
Favors/ Kanters rebound strength for being so young.
Howard’s effort on offense(I still think he only gave it 75%)
Watson and Kanter holding there own on D.
Dev Hairs offense coming outta the gate
    Corbins lineup adjustments
Jeremy Evans putting some meat on his bones( he did miss an open jumper, which is one thing he needs to start being considered a rotational player)

    Disappointed in:
Traja bell getting so many mins
Memo missing 2 wide open money balls(3 pointers)
Haywards/favors early fouls( sophomore treatment from refs)
    Kanter getting swatted( again)

I was impressed with the D. Especially Favors’ and Kanter’s on LMA. I know that guy can score on the fly with many different moves, and he just seemed ineffective. I’m hoping that translates from Favors and EK.
I’m still impressed with Hayward effectiveness (when he doesn’t get called for 3 crap fouls that weren’t really fouls on him.)
Impressed with Burks speed of the game. He did go for the goose egg tonight, but he looked faster doing it than the night before. Just some tough shots that didn’t go down.
I was impressed with down the stretch our boys didn’t totally implode when Portland was obviously pushing for the win.
I liked that this was a defense-focus game. It didn’t matter about who was on the floor, the Jazz were focusing on defense I feel was to be able to translate to any team playing them. I think that in mind will help the Jazz.
I like the overall energy of the game. Out of the gate a little slow, but nothing too crazy that the game was going out of reach for the Jazz.

Oh, one more thing. Evan’s monster dunk that shouldn’t have been an offensive foul. The refs were all about calling offensive fouls on our players tonight that were not. If you don’t believe me about this not being an offensive foul, then look at this link.

Lower in the article it talks about how this wasn’t a foul on Evans.

I thought for the most part, the Jazz played pretty well last night, especially when you take into account the fact that they have only been practicing for a couple of weeks. The only thing that I felt any concern with last night was their inability to handle Por’s defensive press late in the game. We threw it away almost every possession. And I know it’s still early and everyone is dusting off their game, but if you are Josh Howard, and your up by one with under a minute to play, you gotta make AT LEAST 1 free throw, if not both, (not miss both). I don’t care how long you’ve been hurt or whatever. Other than those two items, I thought the Jazz played relatively well for only their second preseason game. Good things coming I’m sure.

Well, it WAS all of our young/new guys in at the end. The lack of game experience could account for some of those late-game turnovers.

Our defense looked 100% better than last game, which is encouraging. Matthews struggled, we smothered Batum and Matthews, and our double-team was effective against Aldridge. THAT’s what I am most encouraged by.

    We still need AK
