Meet
Stoked

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.I have a serious problem. Luckily a support group was established. That support group is you guys.
I can’t believe how much I love the Jazz. I’m 23 years old. My dad was a die hard Jazz fan back when “Stockton to Malone” was the greatest thing to ever happen to Utah sports. I remember back then (yes 15 years ago was a long time for some of us), my dad showed such emotion during Jazz games. I watched pretty much every Jazz game with him (on KJZZ) and could not understand how he could care so much about a game.
These days the tables have turned. My dad still loves the Jazz, and actually takes me to several games a year because his work hooks him up with free tickets, plus I always get him tickets for Christmas and he gets me tickets for Christmas. But that hardcore passion has faded, yet it rubbed off on me something aweful(ly amazing).
I keep my girlfriend and roommate up until about 2 a.m. everytime a Jazz game is on. (I always start the game about an hour after it actually starts so that I can skip commercials. I’m up swearing at the T.V., telling Ty Corbin what to do, saying very inapproprite things to/about the refs. Funny thing is I always end up pausing it for another hour or two so I can pee or drive to Mcdonalds or cook something or take my dog for a walk. My roommate is from Montana so luckily he never had a basketball team to root for, but now he’s a pretty big Jazz fan. In fact he actually bought his first Jazz jersey a couple days ago. It was a Burks road jersey. I was actually kind of pissed because I wanted to buy a new jersey this year and I had thought about what jersey I wanted to buy… First I thought I want to get either a Paul Millsap jersey or an Al Jefferson jersey (btw all of the hate against Big Al over the past while has bummed me out… Yes Dallan and Omar <3 haha) anways I didn’t want to get either of their Jerseys because I’m guessing that one, if not both won’t be playing for the Jazz next year. I already have a Favors jersey, and I dont want a Hayward jersey (idk why). I would actually like a Watson jersey (also been sad about the hatred towards him), so the next one on my list would be Burks… obviously I can’t sit next to someone at a game wearing the same jersey (well I guess I could, two Burks jerseys together would be pretty priceless) so I’m thinking I’ll probably have to go for a Jeremy Evans jersey.
I am way too excited for this season to start. I honestly really hope that the Jazz don’t make any more trades this offseason, because I like the way things are looking right now. My starting line up as of now would be PG: Mo SG: GH SF: Ma PF: Faves and C: Big Al. I think a bench of Foye (Watson/Tins) Burks, GH/Ma/Carrol, Millsap/Evans, Kanter would be just sex. I saw that recent report card and I believe it gave our bench a B-… I don’t agree. I would give our bench an A-.
Anywho I’m sorry to babble, theres just alot of Jazz action on my mind. Here’s a top 10 plays from last year vid from NBA.com, you guys have probably seen it already, but it got me rock hard.
P.s. share your random thoughts.

BTW I’m actually going to miss Harris. I hope that Mo Williams actually does want to come and bring some toughness to the Jazz.
Hahaha! LMFAO about the rock hard bit! Great, emotional post Colten. You could get a Kanter jersey. The kid hasn’t really found his niche in the NBA yet, but I guarantee you he will average a double double by 2013/14.
Remember how he manhandled Bynum when we beta the Lakers last year? It was a beautiful sight to behold. You could also go for a throwback Stockton or Malone jersey.
I want them to come out with a Jerry Sloan jersey. Larry Miller’s already taken the #1 but I think they need to to hang a Jerry Sloan jersey in the rafters.
I’d buy 5 of those jerseys. The fact that they haven’t hung up anything in Sloan’s honor proves to me there’s still a little bad blood between Sloan and the Jazz. Not much, mind you, but enough that when Jerry Sloan came to that game last year the freaking Jumo Tron didn’t even show his picture.
Greg Miller must still be butthurt about it.
After watching those top 10 plays, all ten were Millsap, Favors, and Hayward. 4 of them were Millsap.
God I would do ANYTHING to be able to keep the Mighty Millsap. It will break my heart if we lose him. Talk about a stud. What a boss.
Larry Miller jersey is #9.. He suited up a couple of times..
@Nick – I think the Sloan outfit from the rafters would be a bad suit and tie.
. I agree with you Colten but I’m not sure I get as excited as you do. Problem I have is with time difference of 17 hrs means all the games are on when at work and we only get two espn and tnt games a week. I did get myself a Stockton jersey during the last few weeks
this video reminds me how clutch millsap is and how much he does for the team. I will be sad if he leaves. I would choose millsap over jefferson any day.
Hahaha, Colten, great piece.
If Al got paid 6-7M and played like 20 minutes, Id be saying hes a very good rotation guy. My problem is Als a rotation guy but with the Jazz is the franchise player (my definition of franchise is taking the most shots, playing the most minutes, the offense is run through him, and he gets paid the most). Plus, its either or, so I see keeping Al as losing Millsap.
Millsap never quits, he might get out match by certain bigs, but Millsap will always fight. Millsap has willed the Jazz through so many games, I really cant see why the Jazz wont extend him at least 2 years to line up with Burks and Kanter new deals, maybe by then 3 years later hell take less money to the bench big behind Favors and Kanter. I say Millsap and 2 year 20M, then 4 year 20M so he can retire a Jazzman. Not to keep dumping on Al, but I think once Jazz trade Al, Millsap signs extension that week. Its not a money issue, its a usage issue with Millsap. Huge mistake losing Millsap cuz we wanted to keep Al?! Worst basketball decision ever in Jazz history.
Watson should be a playet development coach until a assistant coaching spot is available.
We all loved Okur, but we new he didnt fit with the Jazz future, and he got trade during camp, so maybe a week into camp as teams like the Rockets are trying to figure out their 21 man roster, and teams practice and see weaknesses, I see the Jazz trading Al, I see Burks exposing Al in practice, Millsap playing too much out of position at the 3, too many PGs, Kanter looking comfortable, Lindsey getting ask too many Raja questions, Millsap playing well at PF–all leading to an Al and Bell trade, and Watson retiring to become player personnel. And then Jazz can beat Heat in 5.
So id wait til mid-October to see what the final roster is.
This is really projecting into the future, or maybe wishful thinking, but if Evans can developed a 3pt shot over the next 3 years and add like 30 pounds, maybe a Evans can be a big athletic 3 like Josh Smith (without the ballhogging), and the Jazz lineup in 3 years will be:
Kanter
Favors
Evans
Hayward
Burks
With Millsap and Marvin off the bench. By then Kobe, Gasol, Duncan, Dirk will be on their last legs, while Jazz will be in their prime. Maybe hopefully anyway.
I see Evans as filling out a little more, but not developing a 3pt shot. Hopefully a 10 to 15 pt. ability. Jefferson needs to go, hopefully for a good draft pick for much less money. I would also hope that they can keep Sap. I think that the Williams boys are going to be a good surprise for us. We’re close to having what we want, with a little luck in resigning and time developing.
how about halfway through the season when Mo williams is tradable. We trade Mo Williams Al Jefferson Raja Bell and Golden State first round pick for Rajon Rondo. I thought Jazz fans would be pretty happy with this trade because Mo williams isnt the answer at point Jefferson is a black hole and Raja is a cancer. Plus we where just going to draft a point guard with that pick, so why not get a proven one but I may be wrong and you guys won’t like it. Just tell me what you think of the trade
Jazz Get Rajon Rondo and players to make money work.
Celtics get Mo and Al Maybe Raja and 1st round pick
you would probably need a third team to come in to make the trade work. Rondo’s salary is 11 million which would leave another 12 million dollars to fill.
I still like the idea of rondo with the jazz yeah the kid has an attitude but, hes a great team player and would fit well in a jazz system. I mean he is one of the best passers in the game if not the best passer, he plays defence well and, can lead a team. Sounds like just what the jazz need but, i dout we will ever see that so im just looking forward to see what mo or foye can do at the pg spot
