balls drop

tonight about 6:30pm. any predictions?

the jazz get the shaft with luck situations historically but we deserve some luck right now damn it!!!

Ok regardless of winning the pick back or not, good news is most likely our trade exception gets used shortly with possible other assets in some deals with rebuild teams desperate to drop cap space and other rebuild teams desperate to get 1st round draft picks.

My forecast or wish list:

If we get the pick , trade up to get Beal.  Sign Andre Miller in FA if he is reasonably priced and use our exception for draft picks next year.

If GSW keeps it, use the exception and a player or 2 for multi team deal with teams like Lakers, Celtics, Houston,  portland, Detroit and Philly.  and try to get a mid 1st round draft pick to land Marshell with a wing spot  like Igaudalla, ray allen, or Kevin Martin.

igaudalla or Kevin Martin.. i know ray allen shoots lights out but they need to stop adding the people that are on the last couple years of their career..the jazz need a younger guy that can help this team grow not happer it with injuries i would love to see the ball drop to 8th just for the fact that GS tanked the last part of the season to keep the pick

Karma would dictate that Golden State’s pick drops to 8th. Let’s all hope the Raptors leap-frog them and get the #3 pick. (Bobcats #1 and New Orleans #2). That’s my prediction.

  3. Shane says:

Iggy yes, Ray Allen no way. I’m a big fan of Ray Allen, but his years have got the best of him. He can still shoot, but the injuries are catching up with him. I agree w/ Eric that we need someone to grow with the team.

I would also take Lillard before Marshall in the draft…just my opinion.

I’m very interested to see if the Jazz make a move to get into the draft. I don’t feel like we will, but I hope I’m wrong and they go get someone they really want. If we somehow get lucky on the lotto, it’d be nice to see the Jazz trade up to get a top 5 pick for Beal or MKG. Or if they stay in the range of 8-10, Lillard, or a big men like Jones, Zeller or Henson could give them flexibility to trade one of the bigs. Barnes could also slip a little if we want to target him to fill our SF needs, but unless they get Beal or MKG it would be good to see the Jazz target free agency to land a quality SG/SF. There could be some quality guys on the market this summer. My #1 target would be Eric Gordon, but he will be in very high demand and a long shot for Utah. A few people on here have suggested Johnson with Minny, I also like that move. Ilyasova is a popular name now since Locke’s comments, he seems good but I haven’t seen much of him. I also like Novak and Morrow to help with 3pt shooting if we could target one of them. We’d need to trade for Morrow.

Ahh yes I remember the day shortly after I turned eleven……

  5. Hahahahahahaha LK

  6. L.K.Anderson says:

Portland gets 6 and 11 pick. Harris Blazers??

  7. Omar says:

Hope GSW drafts Greg Oden version 2.0.

They need to redo draft lottery:
    1
    14
    2
    13
    3
    12
    So on.

That teams that barely miss playoff get rewarded.

  8. Yeah I mean I dont want to start a “conspiracy” , but couldnt we at least get to see the balls get selected ?? No team budges in the order and then Sterns hornets jump the bobcats …. Some bull!@#$%

  9. Omar says:

Ya why don’t we get to c?? They only select 3 sets of 6 digit combination???? Just turn it into an hour show, snd not waste time with small-talk getting to know presenters bs.

So basically if your not gonna make playoffs just tank?? Thats bs. Screw stern, thats was probably part of the deal, buy Hornets and ill get u the 1st pick.

  10. And after watching ray allen tonight , I definitely dont want a geriatric roster . Xing my fingers that koc has gotten on the phones for some wheeling and dealing with portland for a draft pick that turns out to be a better player than wes mathews. And we send that player to next years lottery to watch the gsw pick jump from 14 to 7.

  11. Omar did you notice the hornets GM saying they’ve had alot of fortunate events lately? … LMAO

  12. Omar says:

@jazzed uponit, yes!!!! They didnt look too surprised when they won.

NBA is trash. Heat shoot 18 more free throws than the celtics?! Thats some BS. Stern will never get his Kobe v LBJ finals. Hes trying his best to force Heat into the finals. Hope Spurs sweep and somehow Boston comes back.

Ya I agree Jazz not having a pick in first round is gonna make them more active til draft. Let the trade talks begin.

  13. NBA…where tanking is rewarded.

All you need to do is give all 14 teams that don’t make the playoffs the same odds of getting the number one pick. Just make it completely random, so that one team can’t benefit more then another team by losing more games. Have 14 team names in a hopper, and pull them out one at a time, with the first envelope selected being the 14th selection, all the way down to the last envelope being the 1st selection. Also, protections on picks shouldn’t exist. Tanking can be avoided.

  14. KCJones says:

Also limit protections to top 3 or top 14 only. None of this top-8 in 2013, top-6 in 2014, top-4 in 2015 crap.

So does this mean if by next year’s trade deadline the Warriors aren’t looking like they’ll make the playoffs, they will sit Bogut and Curry and anyone else playing well and tank down to the #6 worst team? Probably.
