The Suns Also Sink

Amare
Does anyone else out there feel like the Suns are playing worse against the Lakers then the Jazz did, at least in the first two games? Perhaps it is just wishful thinking on my part, but they do not look good. I never have thought Amare Stoudamire was the brightest bulb in the light fixture, but to dis both Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol is not clear thinking. The Jazz lost the first two games in the Semifinals by a combined 13 points, the Suns by 33.

As the series shifts back to Phoenix, we can hope the Suns regain any defensive presence they might have had at one time. Or maybe we have to hope that no one calls Derek Fisher a liar and he gets so riled up he scores a combined 30 points in two games, well above his season average. Maybe the Lakers will forget their proof of citizenship papers and that very suspicious looking Pau Gasol is sent back to Spain where he belongs (this is my attempt at humor, please do not take offense unless you are Gasol). Unfortunately I am afraid our only hope is to root for Boston. That just makes me cry to think about it.

Go Oklahome City Thunder, Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics?

Go Celtics! Let’s be realistic here, the Jazz were the second best team in the west this year! On paper, Phoenix looks like a great team. In reality, the only REAL TEAM in the NBA is Utah!!

  2. JazzyRubes22 says:

I guess you could lump the Fakers in there as well since they will win their billionth title this year, but you never heard that from me!!

  3. Sheri says:

I happen to enter the Suns live chat and started the LETS GO SUNS chant can’t stand the Lakers.

But I think that your prediction is correct here Deb because it’s going to be a Laker/Boston matchup in the championship in that case I’m rooting for the Celts.

  4. slamjackson says:

I’m rooting for the not-Lakers. I dont care who wins as long as its not the lakers.

I had serious faith in the Suns… I had faith in the Jazz… I had faith in Orlando… I suck!

  7. Diana says:

ugh so tired of Laker dominance. although seeing the Suns stink it up makes me happier about the Jazz. that Gasol gift has removed all the surprise and magic of the post season.

  8. J R Stewart says:

Deb, I think you had a typo in the headline, perhaps it should have been The Suns Also Stink?

  9. Deb says:

    JR,
You are probably correct about the state of the Phoenix Suns, but the title was supposed to be a play on words on the title The Sun Also Rises by Hemmingway, I am sure I was the only one who even got that. I just hope the Suns can play a little better tomorrow than Orlando did tonight, maybe only lose by 10 or so points.

  10. Annie says:

Clever title Deb, although I think J.R.’s idea is a close second.

  11. French Dude says:

And Now ?????? Suns are still here and we can’t justify the sweep anymore……
It’s not by watching elsewhere that you can find solution to your problem

  12. J R Stewart says:

    Go Suns!!!

Beat the HATED Lakers if you can. Beat them up enough so the Celtics can beat them, if you can’t.

I am very happy to say that perhaps this bog was a little premature.
