Meet
RATED R?

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz. There was a tweet by Bill Walton recently about Jerry Sloan that I thought would be a perfect line for a movie “Being reminded of Jerry Sloan’s abrupt absence from the Jazz leaves a bigger hole in my heart than a congenital valve defect ever could.”
I would love to see a movie made of this last year of Jerry Sloan’s coaching with the Utah Jazz. It could start with the great win over Denver in the 1st round of the play-offs last year and end with the press conference when he left or maybe it should include the Deron Williams trade and the end of the season. It would need to end on a hopeful note with the great young players the Jazz have acquired.
One problem is that I am not sure anyone who knows the “true details” will ever make them public. So maybe the movie would have to wait until some of the people involved were no longer with us.
I have not come up with a tittle yet and only a few of the actors, so I need your help, especially you, Shauna. So far I have
Jerry Sloan: Clint Eastwood
Phil Johnson: Tom Selleck
Deron Williams: Jaime Fox (would have to wear very tall shoes)
KOC: Bruce Willis (maybe)
Al Jefferson: Denzel Washington
Ty Corbin: Terrance Stamp
Devin Harris: Chris Rock or maybe Aaron Brooks
Gordon Hayward: Jordan Wynn see http://www.utahjazz360.com/deb1/tall-thin-pasty-guys/
Carlos Boozer: Vin Deisel
Kyle Korver: Ashton Kutcher
Wesley Matthews: Will Smith
Greg Miller: David Caruso
Gail Miller: Helen Mirren
Thurl Bailey: himself (he is an actor by the way)
Bill Walton: Luke Walton
So there are many more actors I need to fill smaller parts, that’s your job as assistant director.
Oh and I need someone to coordinate the music since the only song I can come up with is YMCA and I know everybody hates that.
I am assuming this movie may need to be rated R if Jerry’s language was as colorful as I have been led to believe.
As soon as it is done, I am sure we can get it shown at Sundance.
So; would-be screen writers, casting directors, music coordinators and assistant-producers apply here
Oh and as an aside, I found a new-in-box Bryon Russell bobble-head doll at an estate sale, anyone know Michael Jordan’s address?

Deb: I love this post! Clint Eastwood is the perfect actor to play Jerry Sloan. And the film would definitely be rated R, considering Sloan’s choice of words from the bench. Here’s some ideas (not all are Jazz-related, but have been floating around in my brain for some time):
Deron Williams: Ice T
Devin Harris: Ludacris
Andrei Kirilenko: Dolph Lundgren
Wesley Matthews: Wesley Snipes
Dennis Rodman: Lady Gaga
Mike Bibby: Dr. Evil
Keith Bogans: Dr. Dre
Aaron Brooks: Chris Rock
Will Smith: Robert Horry
Brian Scalabrine: Michael Rappaport
Bear: Vlade Divac
Thanks James,
Have you really seen Bear without his costume? Does he really look like Vlade? Oh and Michael Rappaport is great to play Brian Scalabrine.
If you were to do a movie about Sloan it would have to start much further back than this season or last. He became who he was long ago. But interesting concept, and more interesting is your all star cast. I doubt if you got any of that cast if it would be shown at a film festival. Very interesting though..
Speaking of who looks like who
The ” Songify This – Winning – a Song by Charlie Sheen ”
the Guy at 56seconds into it, does he not very similar to Hayward.
Eric Spoelstra: John Leguizamo (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_UaLWp72nij4/TKE975IsrBI/AAAAAAAAU6g/hzvyGojUuQM/s1600/john-leguizamo.jpg)
Rick Carlisle: Jim Carrey
Also, I like Kevin Spacey for Phil Jackson. Just add glasses, a smug expression, and white hair.
Screen writer applying here!
How about Ludacris as D. Harris. If you don’t know he’s an rapper/actor.

Thanks to everone who commented,
@champ, you are right about Ludacris, don’t know his music but saw him in guestr spot on L&O:SVU and liked it alot.
@Shauna
Would love you as screen writer, however I talked to my investors and since our funding came from the change we found in our couch, we don’t think we can afford a writer as famous as you.
It’s very intersting.
