Meet
Tall, Thin, Pasty Guys
Posted by: Fan on September 4th, 2010
The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.
You know these guys, right? I mean you know who is who and what they each mean to Utah Sports? For some reason they remind me of each other, in fact if I walked into Happy Sumo and one of them was sitting there, I would have to think a minute or two about which one he was.
Unfortunately neither of them look like Ashton Kutcher, but they are OK if you like tall, thin pasty looking guys. Anyway, what are your thoughts on the two of them, which one will have the most impact on Utah sports this year, will either of them have any impact. Do they remind you of each other or am I just nuts?
If you are commenting on this, please do not turn it into a Utah/BYU debate. Now a Utah Jazz vs. University of Utah debate would be OK. I often wonder in the late fall if Utah Jazz Basketball or college football takes up the most interest in the average home or place of business. Whomever correctly identifies these young men first wins the chance to read about them both in the Deseret News newspaper, if you can find one, do they still have sports writers or were they all let go in the recent mass lay-offs?
Anyway, see you all at the Dodge Barrage II. Only 6 days left to enter your team. Just think you can finally get retribution for what Michael Jordan did to the Jazz.
Disclaimer: To avoide lawsuits and misunderstandings, I should say that Michael Jordan will not actually be at the Dodge Barrage II nor will Bryon Russell, as far as I know. But there will be a current member of the Chicago Jazz Bulls you can throw your balls at. Good luck.

utes will beat byu……now that that’s over with, I have no problem telling them apart, one has big ears, the other looks alot younger.
You lost me. What was the point of this blog? Were we supposed to guess who those two are or tell the difference between the two or both? I can easily tell those two apart. The problem is that neither of them look familiar. If the right one isn’t a weird picture of Gordon Hayward, I don’t see how this subject has to do with the Jazz, so I don’t get why you’re mad at people talking about college football.
BYU will throw at least a few teams off with their new idea of switching QB’s every possession. It worked against U-Dub. I’m impressed with the way we shut down Jake Locker. If BYU can shut down Jake Locker’s offense, I have no doubt that they can shut down Jordan Wynn’s offense. Now to tie it in to what you allowed me to do, I wonder what causes you to wonder about which is more popular in the fall between Utah Jazz and college football because college football is the very easy answer. Why would people be more interested in the Utah Jazz than college football in September? The Jazz are doing nothing right now to warrant any interest while the beginning of college football is a huge hit in the sports world. One last question, why are we allowed to talk U of U vs Utah Jazz and not BYU vs Utah Jazz?
Sorry but no, i don’t know who is the Dumbo kid on the left, but i begin to be a fan of the one on the right…..
Thanks to all who commented. Just to answer a few questions:
Kyle: These two athletes are almost exactly the same age, their birthdays are within four months of each other
French Guy: The gentleman on the left is Gordon Hayward, 1st round draft pick of the Utah Jazz, which I am sure you knew. The other one is Jordan Wynn, sophomore quarterback at the University of Utah
Adam: I have no problem with discussing some football stuff, what I did not want this to turn into was a blog where BYU fans bashed Utah fans and Utah fans based BYU fans, I just get tired of that sometimes. I have no problem with comparing BYU support with Utah Jazz support. Late fall means to me November after the Jazz season has started and while college football is going on. Let me list the major points from my outline of this blog that I write before I write the whole thing:
1. These two athletes really remind me of each other, I was just curious if anyone else could see that.
2. I wanted to start a discussion of which one would have the greater influence, attention or impact on Utah (the state, not the school)sports this year. For example if Gordon Hayward had a significant role in helping the Jazz to the western conferene finals this year, that would be a big deal, and if Jordan Wynn helped the U to another BSC bowl, that would be a big deal also, so which would be a bigger deal to the average Utah (the state) sports fan? Just asking for opinions here.
3. The last part was my attempt at humor and social commentary, which I realize is totally subjective, but it made my editor and me laugh, which is always a good thing for us.
Euh Deb, it seems that you have a little problem distinguish the Left and the Right, coz i’m sure Hayward is not on Left…. maybe you have to switch the two photos to make me wrong
Ok, that makes sense. I got your point. The guy on the left is Jordan Wynn. The guy on the right is Gordon Hayward, just like I thought. Who is going to be more influential in Utah Sports this year? Coming from a BYU fan like myself, this will mean a lot. The answer is Jordan Wynn. The Utes looked impressive against Pitt and Wynn will do good. Although we can’t count out BYU’s two-headed QB monster in Heaps and Nelson. They’ll do a lot better than most people think. Switching QBs every possession is an innovative idea that will give opposing teams headaches because they will have to establish two seperate game plans and constantly switch back and forth while keeping a close eye on which QB is actually in the ball game. As far as Hayward goes, this is his learning year, not his impact year. Give him a couple years then have this comparison with the Ute/Cougar QB at the time.
Oh my, you just switched it on me. Lets put it this way. The angry, pissed off guy in the red shirt is Wynn while the guy with the huge mouth and huge teeth is Hayward. Did I get that right?
French Dude, I do know left from right even though where I live there is so little left-thinking, it is almost like it does not exist. Since I cannot change a comment, I did switch the pictutes. Please be sure and let me know any other errors I might have made. Just to return the favor, coz is spelled because and distinguish should be distinguishing.
Thanks again
BYU sucks fat balls!!!! Everybody get’s all hyped up about the new moves, but they can’t even come close to winning a game, I mean there is a difference between losing to a good team by just a few points, but an average team C-MON HAHAHHA UTAH UTES BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s just face the facts shall we…. BYU will never be as cool as the Utes just face it!!! Don’t be jealous!!! I don’t get the the point of this post either, other than the fact that it’s maybe because the Utah Jazz always pick a bunch of white pasty scrubs that suck!!! Hopefully Gordon Hayward is the exception….
Adam,
I did switch the pictures, in a comment reply to someone I made a mistake and said “The gentleman on the left is Gordon Hayward, 1st round draft pick of the Utah Jazz, which I am sure you knew. The other one is Jordan Wynn, sophomore quarterback at the University of Utah”. Since I could not change the comment (I really wish we could do that), I changed the original pictures. I agree that the two quarterback system worked well for BYU, I am still not sure it is the best for the entire season. I think Bronco will eventually choose one or the other.
Nothing wrong with tall, thin and pasty!
I wish I knew enough about Utah football to make an educated comment on your post.
) He will have more influence than Gordon Haywood.
I think its really creative. I would have to think that since Jordan Wynn is the starting QB (if we were referencing Friday Nigh Lights I’d have to call him QB1
I am however very excited to see what Haywood brings. I imagine he’ll be a great boost of the bench I’m very intrigued by his versatility.
ugh Gordon Hayward not Haywood. Sorry about that, been sick all day not thinking clearly
I think this is the answer to Adams article. You football trollers please use KSL, D- News, and the Trib to show off your whits.. And by the way all the white guys look the same anyway don’t they??
Jazz Fan- I don’t know if you got the memo, but BYU beat Washington yesterday. Not the other way around. Now, open mouth, insert foot. I don’t know if you got the other memo, but Washington has Jake Locker and after watching him play, he is a dang good quarterback and has a top notch receiver to throw to as well as an incredible running back. After watching both Utah and BYU play, I can comfortably say that Washington is a better team than Pittsburgh. Washington will be in the top 25 before too long, you just wait. They are a much improved team and BYU just beat them, totally shutting them out in the second half, whereas Utah fell flat on their face in the second half against Pittsburgh and pulled off a very lucky overtime win. Pitt would’ve won that game if it weren’t for their illegal shift penalty on the last drive in the fourth quarter.
Sorry, Deb, I know you didn’t want this to become a Utah – BYU debate, but I couldn’t let naive comments like that to get away. No one who knows anything about college football can in their right mind claim that either BYU or Utah are horrible football teams right now. Both are good.
stupid…your wrong so you change the picture around…then you correct a french guy…thats dam good for a french guy…don’t correct him “coz” he called you out…haha
Instead of switching the pictures, you should’ve just made the comment that you made a simple typing mistake, because although you made a mistake in one comment, several others made correct comments before and after and now to the person just joining in everyone else looks real silly, while you look like the smart one. Not that bright of a move. Sorry about being blunt, but that’s true.
Thanks again to all those who commented,
Duece
I changed the pictures around because that is what French Dude asked me to do, I was greatful he pointed out my mistake and thought he might also be greatful that I pointed out his. Isn’t that what the comments are for, to point out each other’s mistakes, it sure seems like it. I hope he did not take offense, because I didn’t. I guess I am not familiar with what is “dam good” for a French guy.
Adam,
I believe I switched the pictures before any additional comments were made, besides yours. You don’t need to say you are sorry about being blunt, that is who you are, just as long as you do not have a problem with others commenting the same way, it is all OK.
Don’t worry Deb, i take no offense, i’m French, so arrogant and not nice is what i am……
By the way, are you sure your Jordan Wynn is not an illegitimate son of Prince Charles ????
French Dude;
Thanks for writing, Jordan’s ears are not really that big are they? But I do think Gordan Hayward’s mouth looks a little like Camilla Parker Bowles’.
Mmmmh, very intriguing, almost royal blood, maybe the answer of why he is the “gentleman” on the rig……Euh, the left
Sorry, i love to be the cat while the rest of the world is my ball of wool
Man, this is why I hate Ute fans. They are so short sighted, and negative. Anyone that just throws out a “BYU sucks” is either stupid, or doesn’t know anything about college sports. By the way, when is the last time Utah beat BYU at any sport? It wasn’t last year, I’ll tell you that. Max Hall hit spot on as far as the fans go. He shouldn’t have said what he said, but some of them are just classless. I like the Utes. Don’t ruin that for the REAL college football fans. No one, and I mean NO ONE can tell right now who is the better team. You’re just blowing hot air.
Deb- Well, as long as you recognized that both French dude and I made comments about the guy on the left and the guy on the right BEFORE you made your first comment in addition to both our comments AFTER your comment. That means out of the first 6 comments (the comments before you switched the pictures), 4 of them made the correct reference, while you made the incorrect reference. I hope you took that into consideration before you decided to switch the pictures. Like I said, you should’ve just corrected your own comments.
@Deb: You’re pointing out spelling errors in others’ posts when you can’t properly spell the word “grateful”. If you do want to make a point of replying to every commenter, displaying your hypocrisy probably isn’t the best way to go about it.
Additionally, since this is utahJAZZ360.com and not utahsportsyearround360.com, I don’t see how Jordan Wynn is relevant. He will not ever play for the Jazz.
Chris,
Thanks for writing and thanks also for pointing out my spelling error. This was not just a typing mistake which many spelling errors are. There are a couple of words I have trouble with and this is one of them. So now I will have a little memory device to help me, I can think back to your comment and I will remember the correct spelling. The reason I respond to comments is because I believe it is important for the original author of a post to read all the comments posted and think about them and respond to them if time allows. There was recent criticism on this site about people who just posted their blogs and never looked back. And I agree that is not what the site was designed for. This post does deal with Jordan Wynn, but it is in comparison to Gordon Hayward, a current Jazz team member, and their impact to the community. I believe that a post that deals with any current member of the Jazz or past member is OK. If I had talked about the importance of Wynn in comparison to Jake Locker or Andy Dalton, then yes, it would have been inappropriate. It would have been nice if you could have commented on the question that was the subject of the post: “which one will have the most impact on Utah sports this year, will either of them have any impact”. But only a couple of people who commented did.
Thanks again for taking the time to write.
Larry, The post I wrote was so close to what Adam wrote that I decided not to post it. The thought behind this post came from articles about both players on the same page of a newspaper I read. Thanks for commenting.
Ok, anyone going to talk about the question posed in the original statement? Who will make a bigger impact on Utah sports, Jordan Wynn or Gordon Hayward? I say Jordan Wynn. What about everyone else?
