The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

I went on to nba. com today and found this gm servay.

http://www.nba.com/news/features/2012-gm-survey/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1

you really need to check it out. i would say the jazz are mentioned in voting maybe once or twice. the jazz and players get no credit for what they do. check it out and let me know what you think.

Kyler, thanks for sharing. I love it, for two reasons. First, the only category the Jazz received more than a mention for was homecourt advantage. And we, the fans, are a big part of that. The second is that I, along with (I’d venture to guess) a lot of fans, and probably even the players, love the idea of being overlooked. Always outmanned, always outgunned…it just makes this fast start even better because people are like “WTF? Utah? Where’d THEY come from???” I don’t want to get carried away–I wouldn’t bet on the Jazz continuing to win two-thirds of their games. But this team has certainly been underrated.

  2. Nathan S. says:

In an ESPN segment called “Contender/Pretender” ESPNs Jalen Rose declared the Jazz Pretenders, despite their early success.

He must not have been watching the games. Because this Jazz team is doing many, many things the right way.

They are being under rated. Many skeptics are being passive and waiting for more concrete/prolonged success before considering the Jazz a playoff team.

Jazz have always been underrated and under appreciated. I think Sir Charles is the only one to actually tip his hat to our organization. Everyone else says our teams under their breath likes its a bad thing.

We could win the championship this year and nobody would know about it……

    …..screw the critics

  5. Very and sadly underrated. The growth in just a few games is incredible and we dont get respect for it. We got blown out by LA and Denver and now we took LA to OT and barely lost and thumped Denver in Denver.

    GO JAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

  6. Browncoat says:

“Jordan Heimer, ClipperBlog: …The team’s recent success (6-1 in 2012) has come against opponents with a combined record of 23-46.”

That is why they don’t buy us yet. We need to put some wins together vs the Clippers, Mav’s, Blazers, Lakers and Thunder or we are going down the same road as last year.

But this team wins at home, plays defense and fights every game so I am hopeful.

The Jazz are definitely better than what the national media thinks of them. I think the better question is can the Jazz make it to the playoffs. Which is still think is a hard question to answer. The Jazz have a lot young depth and a commitment to defense. But We have yet to face any real long term injuries to one of our key players, which I view as Millsap, Jafferson and to an extent Howard and Harris. Also as anyone that has been watching the rest of the NBA knows this season is filled with a lot of parity. Teams are losing games that they should not as they are winning. SO I am thinking that once we get closer to the half way mark we will have a better idea of what this team is capable of and where they are at.

@Matt: I love the fact that Barkley has always liked the Jazz. That’s good enough for me.

  9. Matt, don’t forget Bill Walton, Hubie Brown and Doug Collins, they have been very fair to us.

  10. Matt says:

Collins and Brown are fair coachs so ill give them that, But Walton can suck an egg. Hes a flip flopper. Whatever player or team hes talking about can be the worst ever, then the next play hes sayin ” I told you, best team Ever” I dont trust anything that man says and hopefully he doesnt commentate for the play offs.

Mark Jackson was terrible to us, glad hes not on tv anymore.
Hubie and Collins were great, I hope the best for Collins in his coaching as long as its not against the Jazz.
