Meet
No Respect

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.I decided to get on NBA.com today to see all of the latest stories and what they said about the Jazz win. I was surprised to see not one story. Not a picture or not even a sentence about us beating the lakers, but of course if Miami or Boston or those teams beat a team like the Bobcats or Wizards they are the main story and have 3 different articles on them. every time we get beat they have a story about that but never about when we win. I know that we are not a big market team or very popular among the NBA. but really not one comment on the win? i am mad but happy about the no recognition. it just means when we are in the playoffs once again everyone will be surprised.

There was a story there earlier this morning. It had a big splash photo of Earl and gave him some love. Their game review is quite complimentary. They took it down to put up their previews for today’s games.
Usually we get no love, but we did today.
Sounds about right. Big markets get all the news stories. If we had a winning record and were #1 in the west it would be the same story. Great teams that aren’t in NY, Boston, Maimi, and LA don’t get any love. OKC and San Antonio don’t get anything form anyone and they are great.
@Jeff didnt see that story this morning. Wish I did tho. I come to this site because this is the only place on the web that talks about the Jazz!

Go to the bottom and click the “recap” link. The notebook and the highlight video are crap, but the recap is pretty good.
If you just watched the highlights from last night, you’d think we lost by 40.
Yup…I think it was about a 5:1 ratio of Lakers highlights.
Unfortunately our team is young, and no one cares about us. The Jazz are the ultimate underdogs, and we have to show the world we are legit we have to win in NY, Boston, LA before anyone will bow down. I heard a fantastic song, and it reminded me of this extremely young team.

Its not cause are teams young its because not one outside of utah noeven oneeven cares. It wouldn’t matter if we were a championship contender or not. its just because out side of utah we don’t have a big pull on fans at all. We aren a chicago, boston, Miami or, a lakers team. I live down in arizona and I went around every looking for jazz jerseys the other day and there isn’t anything at all were aren’t popular and, most likely never will be
@Kyler, it’s like Neil Young said: “Everybody knows this is nowhere.” As frustrating as it is to be overlooked, I kind of like fostering that us-against-the-world-mentality. The problem is that little or no love from the national media sometimes works against us in becoming a destination of choice for free agents.
@Jeff and Zach, that really does drive me nuts–it’s like when we beat the Clippers earlier this year and it was more Blake Griffin highlights than Jazz plays.
