Meet
Brains

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.I know sportsmen are rarely known for their intelligence. The U.S. is a bit different to the rest of the world due to the college system, but overall, brains aren’t what they are paid for.
What I do expect though, is a sporting brain. Why do players do things that are just obviously ridiculous on all levels. An example can be seen tonight. CJ had been on the bench for 30 minutes, comes on, and his first 2 shots are 3’s. It was a point in the game where the Jazz needed some points, but Cj chooses to take a three.
A second point is AK’s jumper. Every player has a bad day with their jumpshot. On a day where you are obviously struggling (2 airballs) why does a player continue to take a long range jumpshot, rather than taking it to the ring.
Third point is refereeing. A tech foul for questioning a call, not swearing, not going nuts, but merely questioning, is ridiculous. I will leave it at that, but i could go on and on about refereeing.
At the pay levels of an elite athlete, I think we can expect more from our players.
