6 TRADES THE JAZZ SHOULD CONSIDER
Posted by: Adam on July 23rd, 2010
The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.I thought of these Trades and I checked to see if they would work on ESPN NBA Trade Machine and they all work. These are trades the Jazz might consider if they wanted to go over the Salary Cap. And as you will see I love Trade Exceptions. Here we go.
Trade Matt Harprings Trade Exception to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Delonte West.
I like this trade because it give the Jazz a nice 2 Guard to work with Deron. It moves CJ to the SF with AK. And maybe Bell could come off the bench. West has good ball handling skills, shoots the ball great from Mid-Range and from downtown and is a good Defender. The thing I most like about West is that he is a Raja Bell who can create his own shot. Cavs have been trying to get rid off him. The knock on him is that he has bad off the court issues and I don’t know is Sloan wants that. West has 1 year left on his contract.
Trade Matt Harprings Trade Exception and Andrei Kirilenko to Piston for Tayshaun Prince, Ben Gordon and Chris Wilcox.
This is a good trade for alot of reasons. One the Jazz get rid of there huge contract in Andrei. They get another SF. A starting SG and a good off the bench 4. Pistons have wanted to get rid of Prince and I have heard that they are listening to teams that want Gordon. Wilcox is a veteran expiring contract. It gets CJ to the SF and Bell would again come off the bench. Both Prince and Wilcox have one year left on there contract. Gordon has 3 years. The down side of this trade is that I’m not sure that the Pistons want to get rid of Gordon…yet.
Trade CJ Miles and Ronnie Price to the Mavericks for Caron Butler and JJ Barea.
This puts the Jazz in a good situation. They have AK come of the bench and have Butler start. Barea would back up Deron. Dallas wants to get rid of Barea because they already have a good backup PG in Rodrigue Beabouis.(I think thats how you spell it.) I love Butler he has a good shot and he is pretty clutch. But downside is that Dallas may not want to trade him. Everyone in this trade has 1 year left on their contracts.
Trade Matt Harprings Trade Exception to Hornets for James Posey.
Last Trade Exception I swear! This helps both teams alot. Jazz get a SF and the Hornets get a Trade Exception they could use on somebody to help keep Chris Paul. James Posey is a veteran wing who helped the Heat and Celtics win Championships. He is a good shooter and an average defender. New Orleans wants to get rid of his contract.
Trade CJ Miles to Thunder for Deaquan Cook
Thunder did want Miles a few years ago and this is a opportunity to get him. Bell starts with Andrei at the 3 with Hayward backing him up and Cook backing up Bell.
THE BIG TRADE LETS GO OUT WITH A BANG!!!
Trade Ronnie Price, Andrei Kirilenko and Memo Okur to Blazers for Greg Oden, Marcus Camby, Rudy Fernandez, Jeyrrd Bayless and Nicholas Batum.
I LOVE THIS TRADE! The Jazz get rid of Okur and Kirilenko’s contracts. They get 2 Centers with Oden and Marcus Camby. Oden (when healthy) is very good, he is a great low post offensive and defensive player. Camby is also a great defensive player. Rudy would start in front of Bell. Bayless would be D-Wills backup and Batum would be behind Miles and Hayward at the 3. The Blazers want to get rid of Rudy and Oden. They say Bayless is too inconsistent. Batum is just a player I had to throw in. The hardest to get rid of is Camby. Kirilenko could start for them Okur would start (when healthy) but in the meantime they would play Pryzbila. Price would back up Miller. Everyone except for Camby and Okur has 1 year left of their contracts.
So what do you guys think? Whats your favorite?Least favorite?Who should they trade? Who should they keep?
PLEASE COMMENT!

no way. it seems impossible. other teams don’t give their star players so easily… haha
Are u insane ????? the last trade is rediculus that would make us terrible and make d- will mad and he would leave because of it
ADAM, YOU REALY NEED TO STOP SMOKING CRACK BRO.
wow these trades are horrible
You are forgetting the most important thing of any trade, THE OTHER TEAM HAS TO AGREE! LOL
I am pretty sure each team would laugh at the Jazz for just about every one of those offers, then as KOC checks if they are still there..they pick back up and explain how they were laughing so hard they dropped the phone, abd they couldn’t even produce noise, or breathe, and that they were sorry to have done that, and at that point they would continue to laugh at a level of which KOC could hear.
But honestly the player that comes to mind for me that I want is JR Smith..I think he would work great playing alongside Deron.
I have no idea how we could get him though…
Not a single one of these trades would be an upgrade for the Jazz, especially not the last one. Oden? You seriously want that frail old man on our team? Yeah I know he’s only like 20-something, but he looks like an old man and frequently gets injured as if he were an old man. I suppose if you want 10-30 games per season from a starting center it may be a good deal. Don’t even get me started on Fernandez and Bayless… two of the biggest black holes in the NBA. Both are complete wastes and Sloan would probably cut them both before the season even started. Camby could be a solid pickup, but he’s getting kind of old. Batum is the only one on there that would really be worth it, but I don’t see it happening.
Delonte West? Um, there are pretty clear reasons why we don’t want that guy around.

None of these would ever happen,
the only one that i could see happening would be a changed version of the Pistons trade,
TPE, AK, Price, Fesenko , some Draft Picks
for Tayshaun Prince, Rip Hamilton, Chris Wilcox.
What draft picks? We dont have any left!
I think Oden will be good, but he needs to get rid of his Yao Ming injury syndrome. Think is, the Blazers would laugh at us. I’d rather keep laughing at them for what they are paying for Wes Matthews. The only one that would even be possible is the TE for Posey. It would be an okay trade, but it wouldn’t put us over the top, so I wouldn’t do it. Just wait it out. Better things will come. I thought we should have gone after Anthony Randolph before he got traded to NY. Eh, whaddya do?
Some of these trades are impossible because of our cap situation. The only one I like is for Dolonte West, but the Cavs wouldn’t do it.
Also, Trade exceptions can’t be package with players and you can only take one player beck with a trade exception.
All of these trades are garbage… Players we don’t want. Players we don’t even need. Salaries that are terrible. We don’t get a big in any of the trades that would be realistic.
Make a deal with Orlando for Gortat. I think his contract is perfectly matched for that Harpring exception. And if they wanna make a splash, invovle the Hornets with CP3 and AK47 and go from there.
I have read 100% NO with the comments. I would have to agree. West is in trade rumors now and when done will be waived. Oden is a bust. Piston players are either no good or on their downhill ride.
