Is Kanter not ready for offense ?

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.Hi i’m a Utah fan from Istanbul, first of all i want to apologize about my level of english. I’m not a fan of Utah just because Memo and Kanter is(was) a part of the team, i cheer for the jazz since 94.
I have a question about Kanter’s offensive play style, i know the guy from Turkey and i watched him alot, yes he has a good degree of defense and yes he is a monster of rebounds, but also he has great post moves, he is a decent shooter either in and out of the paint he can even score 3 points.
So he is good at in offense also, but the think is he is not using it in NBA, what can be the reason behind that ? do you think he is so scared of the big guys who defends him ? ( he battled against gasol brothers and nowitzki and succeded at the national games.) or maybe he is not ready, because he is not playing challanging game for almost 2 years ? or there is a game setup that foreces him not to touch the ball ?
So basicly i can not see the reason why Jazz is not able to use his offensive strenghts. Maybe any of you guys knows the reason.
Best Regards.

I think that eventually he will be more aggressive in taking more shots. Right now he is concentrating on his overall rebounding and his defense. I personally think that he is doing GREAT for being so young and having such little experience. He is a definite jewel for the future as he develops.
There was an interview that addressed your questions. I think they have a limited amount of time to work with Enes and are working on the weakest part of his game before letting him use all his weapons. Check out the link.

I would say it comes down to the fact that he’s only 19 years old, playing in a league of world class athletes. The fact that he’s doing so well on defense and on the boards is extremely promising, and I have also noticed some really nice post moves a few times as well, and with some time and polish, could make him a complete and dominant player in the future. He just needs some time and experience to continue his development
He is playing against guys WAY better than what he was playing against in Europe.
He is only 19.
No offseason hurt him a bunch. I think it hurt the whole team, but mostly him and Burks. They had literally 2 weeks to learn the offense, meet the coaching staff, and do everything. So it is no surprise he is struggling. This won’t be something that continues with Kanter I bet.
Maybe he´s not but is a monster on D… and his only 19 so…
I have to agree, it will come in time. Here is why I believe it will. Everyone said, he is way behind because of no ball for 3 yrs. Well, for a guy who hasn’t played much he is showing us why we drafted him. Then there is this, take a look.

It will come in time. Remember, he is the youngest player in the league right now.
Levon, rookies usually do not get a lot of play during their first couple of seasons. They need time to learn from the veterans, learn how to play at the NBA level, learn about team offense and defense. Also, the Jazz are very stacked with big guys right now. The NBA is very different from the Euro leagues.
Kanter is outstanding at getting offensive rebounds, but he needs to learn to attack the basket. He comes up a little soft and has trouble finishing at the rim.
Give it a couple of months and I bet Kanter starts to play more offense. Turkey is a wonderful country, glad to know there are Jazz fans over there. Good for you!
I’m loving Kanter’s game. He’s 19, can already rebound with the best of the big men (even better than most big men in the league) and he looks decent on offense. He’s got PLENTY of time to work on offense. He’s got great footwork. He’ll be a monster in two years along with Favors.
Your answers has enlighted me. I bealive in Kanter too, he will develope into a decent big man in thats for sure.
I have a feeling he’ll develop into more than a “decent” big man. He’s going to be a VERY GOOD, potentially GREAT big man
