A win—a glimpse of what’s possible!

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz. The Jazz looked much better tonight than they did in the first two games. More team play! Better defense! Still need to work on shots.
What seems to work well for the Jazz is to have Harris or Watson push the ball up from the back court and look for a quick basket or pass. When that is not there, then have Hayward run the offensive sets. Then, Harris is available to receive a pass for a jump shot or drive to the basket. Tonight, he made it to the foul line on a number of occasions as a result. When Hayward is more involved with facilitating the offense, he seems to play much better.
The 2nd quarter lineup of Harris, Hayward, Howard, Millsap, and Favors looked great. Perhaps, Hayward should be a 2. Then, look to trade Bell and Miles to get another 3. Develop Burks as Hayward’s backup at 2.
But it was good to see the Jazz do well. Hope they learn from their mistakes, build on their strengths, and carry the attitude and effort to San Antonio tomorrow.

Harris looked like himself for the first time this season. He isn’t a facilitate first Point Guard, but when he kicks up the tempo, the entire team benefits from it.
Ray–your point about pushing the ball is key, and that can happen following missed shots, meaning it all starts with defense. The Lakers game was an offensive debacle, but for the most part 100 is that magic number where if you can hold the opponent below 100, you’ve got a shot to win. The Jazz didn’t get nearly enough stops against Denver, but tonight they did and those stops lead to fast breaks and early offense.
I like the idea of packaging cj and raja for another 3. Even just bell would be fine for me
