And it’s not a bad idea for the young players to play together with Earl at the point as they may be the first team in a little while.
Tonight will most likely be the 3rd game where Hayward comes off the bench. Go Jazz!

Gordon has definitely made some improvements, but his shooting percentages have gone from really good, to poor. He needs to get his 3pt shot back into the high 30’s.
I really like how Hayward has played off the bench, and how Howard has played as a starter.
Here is a thought: Start Burks, and bring Bell off the bench.
Starters: Harris, Burks, Howard, Millsap, Jefferson
Second group: Watson, Bell, Hayward, Favors, and Kanter
Some players are better from the bench just it. Its an energy, motivation, power, determination, kind of game thing. Gordon u are one of those guys.
@Guido One of the points of the article was, that as a starter, Gordon was essentially a 4th option. Thus, not a lot of touches and opportunities. Coming off the bench with the other non-starters, Gordon was a primary option.
Perhaps, with the draft, we can find a strong PG who can grow with this second unit that will be the starting team in a couple of years. Is the PG from UNC that potential? If so, KOC needs to move up to have a chance of drafting him
In his younger days he was a point guard. Why not now?? He has all the skills, handles the ball well, high basketball IQ, and already has many assists each game. This way HE could decide the option of where the ball goes.
Marshall from North Carolina stock has slipped he has dropped to mid first round.. the point guard i think that will mold with these guys the best is Damian Lillard from Weber st. he passes and gets assists now if theres a chance the jazz can move the Second round pick up so they have a chance to pick up Scott Machado from IONA gales.. he averages. 13.8 points and 9.9 assists per game
He handles the ball ok, not good I.e. him falling down over and over again for no apparent reason…….
really jazzman? He’s been doing well, in that you shouldn’t say anything wrong about him and yet, you still try and poke holes into this? I think we get it. You probably will never like him.
It’s not about liking him. He was picked high in the draft to fill a position and perform a job for the JaZz. KOC said give him two years and the doubters who booed him on draft night would see why he was picked. He hasn’t done that yet. The JaZz waited a long time for that particular draft pick, he was supposed to be the spot on shooter and scorer that D-Will needed for his team to be competitive. He failed. Now we have a team of what ifs, could be, maybe will, might be. Just saying…..
Bitch, bitch, bitch, jazzman. How about contributing something meaningful for once. Just saying…..
It’s been frustrating to watch Hayward play. He did not get many touches tonight. He needs to demand the ball a bit more.
Side note favors called for the ball a lot tonight. Loved it
jazzman… Did you check the box scores this morning?? Looks to me like he had more points off the bench than most of the starters. Howard 0-6, Bell 1-5 Jefferson 6-14 etc. I believe he was 5-7. Talk all the crap you want but the stats don’t lie. Seems every time you see something about Hayward you have to find something negitive to say. He always plays with a lot of energy and heart. Also remember he is still young and developing. I believe he has come along way and will continue to grow and be a big part of this team. If you like to bash people how about the outstanding play of CJ? 2-10 and 1-5 from 3. He kills us every time he is in the game. He can’t and won’t play any defence and has no idea how to pass or look for any open player. By the way great comment Tacorev you are 100% right on!! Problem is he has nothing meaningful to say or contribute. Just bitch.
Not only is Hayward the 3rd lead scorer on the team, (by the way, his efficiency is coming back on his 3ball with 4-9 shooting this road trip so far.) he is very efficient everywhere else. Look at the end of Jan until now. His shooting is crazy good. Also Locke did a defensive breakdown, Hayward is on the team with the best defensive numbers, 78 points per 100 possessions, (along with Favors). You mention “waiting” it isn’t his fault the Jazz had to wait for the pick. As well as being a #9 overall, he is on a better course than many would have thought.
NBA legends, HOF’s, top guys in the NBA say he is going to be someone special. So unless you are like MJ, Pippen, Bird, or say Stockton in hiding but posting on this site, I can’t take anything you say even with a grain of salt. Your word isn’t even worth that much jazzman.
Right ON!!
I forgot… Just saying…
Besides that the two years is not up yet.
