Meet
Corbin as Coach
Posted by: Jase "n" Jazz on July 12th, 2011
The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.I’m debating if Corbin will be a good coach or not. I am not sure that he has the potential, but he knows system. I feel like when he’s coach, that like I’m in a car with someone who is just learning to drive. That nervous feeling that you want to drive yourself.
I like at the end of the year when he was getting mad and started to have an attitude, it showed that he actually cared. Well his sons pretty good for being in high school, so i guess he’s got to teach him something. We signed him for some more years so I guess we will wait and see.
Oh ya, Mike Brown for the Lakers. We’ll save that for later.

Ty Corbin was thrown into an impossible situation. The Hall of Fame coach he is replacing left in the middle of the season, so he had absolutely no chance to impliment his own system. He then lost the best player on the team one week into his coaching career. There wasn’t a coach on the planet that wouldn’t have lost a lot of those games. However, I think that there is reason to be optomistic. Corbin had the good coaching sense to see that Hayward was more comfortable at the SG position toward the end of the year, and Hayward started to look really good. We also went into Lakerland and beat them on their own court. That is something that we hadn’t done for quite some time. I wish that the lockout would end so that Corbin would have the entire offseason to get his fingerprint on the Jazz team so that we could see what he has to offer. I am optomistic.
Coach Corbin was the logical choice, but he is a first time head coach, only time will tell. He seems to have a good rapport with players and he is a Sloan disciple, maybe that combo will be really effective.
The Lakers are IMPLODING… should be fun to watch, I expect a ridiculous and desperate trade as soon as it’s possible for them to do so.
We all know Mike Brown’s only skill is kissing a super stars ass.
Hey Mike Brown, how Kobe ass taste?
I like the choice for Ty Corbin. Jared is right, he was tossed into an impossible situation. How is ANYONE supposed to fill the shoes of one of the best coaches ever?
I want to see Corbin coach for a whole year with a complete team before I jump to any conclusions.
@Dave801 Love the comments on Kobe/Brown
Well said Dave.
time will speach, for now he sucks!
!@#$% happens… u know waht i mean?
They should make it a requirement for this site that you have to spell two words in a row correctly to become a member. Also, Corbin will be fine and i think that he will make some nice changes for the jazz in the next couple years. He also has some good help to make the transition easier.
I’ll be honest, I was hoping Corbin would just be the Interim and we would land Rick Adelmen, really like his coaching style and Corbin is an unknown for the most part. I’m definitely willing to see what he can do and hope he succeeds here.
@Pick: If you log in using google chrome it has spell check.
Raile Rick Adelman has been a flop in every one of the many jobs has has held.Give Ty a break he did just fine for the mess he got handed at the end of the season, he had the team playing good team ball, and they were short handed and a bunch of rookies.
