Meet
This is life, as a Jazz fan.

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.Every day you hear of people having a bad day. From getting a speeding ticket, to just waking up on the wrong side of the bed… you hear it all. The other day I was having a conversation with a BYU fan (poor guy) about how disappointed he was in BYU’s football team this year. He was incredibly passionate about it. Rather than letting something at work or family problems get him down, his football alma mater was what put him in a sour mood. Lets face it, I didn’t need to have this conversation to understand a Utahn’s passion for their sports team. Whether it’s BYU, Utah ,Utah State, RSL, Salt Lake Beez, etx. you will always find your diehard fans. But the one team that sticks out in my mind is the one and the only, Utah Jazz. Granted the Jazz have been a great team over the past 12 years, we ultimately have not achieved our main goal. Some would consider many of our previous seasons a success we know what we all want, an NBA Championship. But even without that championship, we still have some of the best attendance numbers in the NBA. This is because whether we win or we lose we love our team. We would gladly stand by as we exit the playoffs year after year in hopes that next year will be OUR year. We know it’s unlikely, but we love that it’s a possibility. We are the an underrated and unappreciated team at the beginning of every season and yet we enjoy being the underdog.
I am here to hopefully show other Jazz fans the perspective of a 20 year Jazz fan. In fact, i’ve been a Jazz fan for as long as i can remember. I sit in the upper-bowl with the rest of the die-hards and i love nothing more than expressing my anger, love and anxiety related to my favorite sports team. My opinions and expressions may be harsh, but thats exactly how a sports fan should be.
I am looking forward to returning to my upper bowl seats so I can drink beer, eat a hotdog, and scream my lungs out with the rest of the proud Jazz fans.

I agree with you. The Jazz influence my life so much. Its amazing to me how much my mood is affected by the Jazz. When they go on a losing streak I am not a very fun person to be around
As there been a specific time when the Jazz influenced your mood for good/bad?
When the Jazz lost to the Spurs in the WCF a few years ago, i took the next day off work… A Jazz loss will seriously ruin my day. I have already committed to a Jazz tattoo if the ever win the big one. And im planning on it!
that SA series crushed me. The Jazz looked like a totally different team against them than they did against Houston and GS. Everyone disappeared and well the refs sure did help the Spurs in Game 4!
Grason:
Great post. I’ve long enjoyed your Jazz posts on Twitter. Great job.
