Okay okay he’s not really going to play in Israel, but this is interesting to me considering the Jazz play in a city founded by a very Judaic denomination of Christianity and that I’ve got family in Israel. I find it unique that someone like Amar’e would go so far out of his way to discover his potential ethnic and maybe religious roots. Ethnically I’m Jewish though religiously I’m a catholic, so this is unique to see someone from the NBA going on a religious journey like this.

Also, they take their basketball very seriously over there. Not quite as big as China because they don’t have the money to pump into the media like the People’s Republic does, but they love their basketball.
