The Rockets certainly were in the 90’s. but certainly in the new generation of the Utah Jazz it hasd become the Fakers. Mr. David Smith: I don’t know where you get your “lowly utes” from, but i’d love to know the last time the worthless, good for nothing cougars won anything decent. the cougars are going nowhwere very fast. the Utes are going to the Top very quickly, thank goodness they didn’t allow the Y to drag behind them any longer. The spurs are no longer a threat to the Jazz. The Thunder and the Fakers are the threat. they are who we must study and adapt to in order to defeat them.
Who is the Jazz biggest rival of all time?
Biggest Rival For the Utah Jazz (All-Time)

the thing is, for it to be a true rivalry both teams have to consider it one. thats why it is NOT the lakers. they dont consider us rivals at all. rockets fans cant stand us so that was the obvious choice for me. blazers and nuggets are just division rivals and not really that big on either end if we were to be put in different divisions.

I would say that all those Teams at the top of this page are all neck and neck as far as biggest rivals of all time we have a history with a lot of those teams u think about the rockets when they had TMac and battiea. The Blazers for signing every old jazz player they can get there hands on. The suns always give us trouble. We for some reason in the past haven’t matched up well with matched up well with the lakers I think we will do much better against them this year i think we could consider the spurs a huge rival as well we know the history with them over the years.

i would say Lakers back in the Stockton, Malone Era we beat the Lakers a number of times and now its just the opposite.
times just change -
lakers all the way man they have beaten us the past three years in the playoffs and this year its are time to beat them and move further in the playoffs
-
Houston- it happened in the classic era and now.
I wonder if it just doesn’t feel like it because the Media doesn’t build it up. If it got the attention other rivalries did would we feel differently about it? -
A couple of teams I should’ve added to the blog + Poll: Bulls, and Spurs.

@David – LOL – lowly Utes!
I can’t believe no one else picked that up and ran with it. Kudos! -
@ JC I too remember the classic run-ins with the Rockets. Oh, I hated them. Hakeem with his five step shuffle, Sam Cassell being the national media darling his first two years, Vernon Maxwell’s craziness on and off the court, and Kenny Smith’s flat jumpers that always went in. Eddie Johnson’s three in the 1997 Playoffs was a dagger. Loved how Stock abused Matt Maloney. It moved into a new era with Yao, Battier, Scola, Chucky Brown, Brooks, Alston, Landry, and one of my least favorites, T-Mac. Then again, because any team he’s on loses in the first-round, he should be one of my favorites. In my opinion, they are the biggest rivals we have, although it’s not a rivalry in the true sense of the word.
If it’s based on teams I hate, the order is LAL, Hou, Den, and Port. Oh, and I’m also a big fan of BYU’s rivalry with the lowly Utes

Nuggets, but the Rockets came close…

When you close your eyes and clear your mind, who do the Utah Jazz line up as their rival?
