Burks is a Bust

Alec Burks, is quick to bust on, any team against the Jazz!

The thing i don’t like about the NBA is since the players are getting paid to play, most of them don’t put any heart into the game. If your getting paid to play and your bairly even playing, that would tick me off. Burk is getting is heart in the game, and if anyone could realize that, then they would know the game. ;)

I like him. Seen only glimpses of him to be fair but with the right coaching and minutes, could develop into a seriously good player.

Burks is a bust? Sigh….Couldn’t disagree more.

There has not been enough time to judge him when most of the time he is not even playing in the game…. he comes in and makes stuff happen i dont know who you have been watching but everytime i see him play when he gets quality minutes he makes stuff happen… he is going to get better and he knows how to score and he does slash yes he doesn’t shoot high 3 point percentage but that will improve with time and he need to get the OK to shoot the 3 so it can improve..

Okay Franklin, I get what you look at, but you have to look at the “raw skill”
    Here is his up side:
1- He has great feet ( quick )
    a. CJ he has terrible feet (slow and can’t react )

2- Body position ( going to the basket, defensively )
    a. Cj, horrible, hunched over, flat-footed, “soft”

3- Ball rotation on the shot ( great ball rotation, needs reps, because of the quick release need in the NBA, without rushing it, which is what he does not)
    a. Cj, horrible rotation (sideways) thus creating the inconsistency from night to night

4- Attitutude, I believe Burks with the right coaching would be tentatious as HELL
    a. CJ, not a fighter, almost acts star struck against the big names.

Bottom line, Burks can make a difference, as a rookie, we all know you can be great one night and horrible the next. Secret, YOU HAVE TO PLAY HIM EACH NIGHT TO SEE WHAT YOU WILL GET, 2nd year expect more consistency.

Not near enough time to Judge something like that, CJ is still around and he’s been labeled as a bust by a lot of people because of his inconsistencies. Give him some more time to prove himself

Here is my choice of line-up
C- Al ( maybe if he remembers he has teamates
    PF- Derek
    Sm- Paul
    SG- Burks
PG- Gordon ( with Tinsley getting time )

Wow Franklin, are you watching the same kid we are??? The problem is we don’t utilize our roster’s slkills!! We are stuck in the flex offense, which is not bad, but the flex only works if you are willing to CUT HARD, SCREEN HARD, Move the Ball and have Athletes who can breakdown a defense, and play above the rim!! This is why Raja Bell is terrible in this offense, he was successful when he could sit in the corner and have it kicked to him. In our offense we have to move!! Burks makes CJ look like a 5th grader as far as athleticism.
Give the Kid the Time, he will at least play hard!!!

This kid has great potential. Although he didnt’ shoot great from range in college his mechanics are still fantastic. With repitition he will be a very solid shooter. He’s dribbles and get’s to the rack much better then Brewer, Snyder or Miles. For the first time in a very long time if ever Utah has someone that can create his own shot, and that’s what’s appealing about the guy. The only question is: will our system be good for him or not? Will Corbin change our flex offense or will we still run the same offense that we have for 20+ years?

  • Avatar Image Chase said 1 year, 10 months ago:

Just watch what this kid does. The jazz haven’t had a true 2 guard forever. Now they do.

I’m wondering if he really is what they say he is, he looks like it. I search him up on YouTube and he look very explosive. But I don’t know about him, on those videos they just show the good side of him.

Just like a Jazz fan to be so pessimistic.
