Out of State Jazz Fans?

Living in Muenster, Germany. Became a Jazz fan when I spent a year at Cottonwood High School in 84/85 (Go Colts!) and haven’t left the path ever since.

Now my passion is renewed as I can watch games via NBA International League Pass again (why is there still an e-mail reminder on ilp.nba.com – I want to see the game taking place already?). Hope that works out for this year as well.

I’m a Jazz fan living in Reno, NV for the last 20 years; I was born in Helsinki Finland and lived in Salt Lake for 6 years as a child, and the great majority of my dad’s side of the family is in the SLC area. I got to grow up watching Stockton/Malone and was always so impressed. Stockton may literally be the best player in the history of the NBA; not many would herald him as such, but there are a couple of advanced statistical metrics showing that no other player produced the kind of wins on a consistent basis that Stockton did. This is only because Jordan didn’t play as many years as Stockton, of course.

Anyway, I loved watching Stockton when I was a kid and really enjoy the energy players like Kirilenko and Millsap now. It’s going to be a fun team to watch this year, with Jefferson and Hayward coming in, and all the SIZE we have on this squad.

Konichiwa from Japan everyone. Been a Jazz fan all my life. I lived in Utah for about 6 years but for the past 9 ive been here in Kobe, Japan. Just graduated and will be heading to BYU-Hawaii. Hopefully there will be more Jazz fans there. I’ve been the only Jazz fan in my school since I can remember. It gets lonely when everyone is cheering against you :T

I’ve been a Jazz fan since I was 7 years old when they played the Bulls in the finals. This was the first time I was introduced to the NBA and I fell in love with the Jazz and especially Malone, Stockton and Hornecek! I was born in SLC, but have lived in the Midwest, including Omaha, Nebraska, Houston, Texas, and now Tulsa, Oklahoma. Every year my parents would take us to Utah to visit family because all our family lives there and we would catch a Jazz game. I had the opportunity to attend LDSBC in downtown SLC so I lived 3 blocks from the Arena for a year and a half! I got tickets to most of the games and loved the high energy and loud games! I went to the Thunder/Laker playoff game 6 here in OK and it wasn’t as loud as the Energy Solutions arena. It was loud though. I’m now back in Tulsa, OK.

    Jazz fan from Jersey!

My dad worked for a company that made the floor for and helped to remodel the Delta Center in the late 1990s. First jersey I owned was a John Stockton jersey, and he was my favorite player for a very long time. Having been a point guard in high school and a Jazz fan, you can guess who it is now XD.

I’ve seen them every year since I was nine years old at least twice. Usually in New Jersey or New York but I have seen them twice in the Energy Solutions Arena. If all works out well for me, I may move to Salt Lake so I can see them more one day lol. Go Jazz!

Lifelong Jazz fan from Jackson,Ms.I have been following the Jazz since they left New Orleans and N.O.had no NBA franchise.Since then the Hornets have been playing here and I just cannot bring myself to root for them, not that they are a bad team, but when u root for one team for so long,I just cannot change my allegiance!Maybe one day I will get to visit and see them at home. That would be awesome! DOWN WITH THE LAKERS !!!!

Big Jazz fan. I live in Portland. Yes – that Portland. The one who LOVES restricted free agents from Utah. I despise the Blazers more and more each day – but, hey, they were dumb enough to trade us draft picks so we could get DWill a few years ago. I’ll take him over Matthews any day.

I was born and raised in Utah and a Jazz fan all my life. I am military and currently stationed in San Antonio, TX. This is deffinately not a Jazz friendly city…they hate us here more than any other city I have been too. I couldn’t even get the cops to back me up during game 1 of the western conf finals a couple years back. There were only 3 or 4 of us with Jazz jerseys that day. I have been all over the world and this is probably the worst for a Jazz fan that I have been to so far. I am on my way to Italy next month and will have to try and watch games early int he morning but I don’t care as long as I get to watch. I was in Japan from 03-06 and was only able to see two…yes TWO Jazz games during that tour…and one of them was two weeks old on WGN.

I used to live in Seattle back in the day when the Sonics were there and constantly got picked on by my high school friends. I did manage to go to a game up there (all decked out in my Jazz gear, of course), and I got to tease them because we won! Now I live in Phoenix. I’ve been able to go to one game so far, again in my Jazz gear. Unfortunately, we lost, but oh what a game it was!
