The Jazz need a new formula.

  Watching that Miami game, there were at least two times a guard drove down the lane and Al Jefferson didn’t even move over to contest. As a big man, you contest that shot. Your goal should be to NOT allow anyone to score in your house. Put them on the floor if that’s what it takes, but do NOT let them get a layup over you. That’s pathetic defense right there and you cannot win a championship being so tentative.

  I thought the Jazz were known for their physical play and toughness. Definitely haven’t been seeing it lately.

  I could not agree more, we have no fighters on this team!! We have no one who takes pride in playing defense. If we actually knocked a guard coming down the lane to the ground, I would fall out of my seat.
  Ty, needs to get in some players face and players need to hold teammates accountable for playing like sissy’s. If we would take pride in becoming an intimidating defense, our offense would start to dominate….Example is AL JEFFERSON, he is the most selfish player I have ever seen, he is a killer on offense because the entire flow stops when he gets the ball and on defense his guy can score at will and he has never helped a teammate if he gets beat.

  I’ve watched the Jazz for probably 25 years now. They’ve always been a good team, but not often enough a true contender. I think their fundamental ways is the cause for this. They play too much by the book and not freelance enough. I’ve seen the Jazz fighting night after night, but the second an opponent hits two threes and goes nuts, the Jazz fall apart. They NEVER have that happen to them. A player gets hot on the Jazz and it goes unrecognized. They don’t play with the fire, the passion that it takes to be the best team. We need to see more risk/reward from the Jazz. At the very least it is more entertaining.
