A trade that would make me smile

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.If Favors is our future and we are in desperate need of an upgrade at PG, I’d trade Millsap to Denver for A Miller and K Faried. Miller is a proven vet that still gets the job done. He is already coming of the bench behind Lawson and would be a huge upgrade in place of Tinsley and Watson until he retires. Faried has the same strength and hustle as Millsap. He is avg 12 ppg and 9.9 reb as a second year player! I’d love to see him coming of the bench behind Favors and playing alongside Miller, Burks, Carroll and Kanter
Mo Williams, A Miller
R Foye, Burks, Murphy
Hayward, Marv Williams, Carroll
Favors, Faried
Jefferson, Kanter, Evans

That trade would be worth smiling about!
Coach Karl values Andre as a quality backup PG and a steadying influence.
The deal killer is the fact that Faried carries greater trade value than Millsap! Same player, only younger & on his rookie contract.
Only the Lakers can pull of deals this lopsided.
How about this trade? We free up PT for Core 4 and figure out now IF they can ball. The two other teams are rumored to be active in trade market, the contracts we take back are only 1 or 2 year deals – so we still have flexibility, Jazz need an upgrade at PG now (did you see Jose C crush Steve Nash). Thoughts ??
Utah gets – Danny Granger, Jose Calderon and Ed Davis
Indy gets – Milsap and Raja
Toronto gets – Al Jefferson and Earl Watson

Denver will not give up 2 of their 3 best players for Millsap. They’re not going to let go of Faried, period. He is their future.
Yep. This trade should be titled, “A trade that would never happen.”
Im reading its Callinari….4 years starting at 9M. Idk about that. I think giving up Millsap to get a playet much like Marvin (who as it is hurt by Al’s game). Al getting minutes at PF could be a disaster—he cant guard athletic Centers, imagine guarding athletic PF.
I actually like Stone their PG, he was one of my sleeper 2nd round draft picks last draft. Hes s 6′6 PG! And I like Quincy Miller. But idk about Gallinari over 4 years starting at 9M—thats cuts intp resigning C4 to get a player at a position we are stack at?! I dont take that trade.
@Omar:
Where are you reading that? If we could get Gallinari (I’m assuming that’s who you’re talking about) back for Millsap….absolutely. Gallanari is NOTHING like Williams. In fact, he’s one of the most efficieint offensive players in the game. He’s very similar to harden, but has been injured quite a bit and is a little less dynamic. He’s well-above average at the most effecient ways to score the ball- threes and ft shooting. I like him, and 4 years starting at 9 mil I would trade Millsap and not worry as much about signing Jefferson all day.
Granted, Gallinari’s production has been down a bit this season, but he’s still a guy you have to go for if available for just millsap and change. That’s a guy I’d be happy to bog down my cap with. IMO.
@Omar – Source please? After pg, I would think the 3 is our weakest spot so it makes some sense. Gallo is 6′10 and would provide the offense we need if Millsap did leave. I just think to ignore the point guard situation would be impossible.
@ST I really the the players we receive in your trade proposal but you should have put… Indy gets – screwed
@ Nick “thinks he knows” all, there are 6 players on Denvers roster that are better than Miller and Faried- Lawson, Igoudala, Chandler, Brewer, Ganninari, McGee. If Denver is supposedly interested in Millsap, who are they giving up to get him? Lawson > Miller (in Denvers eyes) and both Gallinari and Igoudala > Faried.
In the offseason I was a huge advocate for getting Igoudala and I would love to get Gallo but I don’t see either of those happening plus if they did, both of those guys would keep Hayward on the bench unless he became our statrting SG

Theres one, I cant find the other ones. Pretty much saying Denver is in love with Faried, and do not want to give anything that puts Jazz over Nuggets. So Gallinari is the name they say is most likely with lesser contracts.
My problem isnt with Gallinari at all, I just think Jazz will have 3 guys that can play center; 3 guys that can play SF; 4 guys thay can play SG, and one legit PG?! Thats why Im not with it. We lose a PF to get a SF (a bit PF)?!
Im reading Chad Ford say Jazz will trade Al by deadline?! We need at least a backup PG upgrade.
*4 guys that can play SF (Marvin, Carroll, Hayward, Gallo)
Mo (hurt), Tinsley, Watson (?!)
@kory: believe it or not, Andre Miller is one of the best point guards in the NBA. Hes a backup, but is better than a lot of teams starters.
Faried, Iggy, Gallo, and Lawson are very good. But Galo is very inconsistent, much like Hayward (they are very similar players). Lawson has underperformed this season as well.
Corey Brewer shouldnt enter inyo the conversation. And i cant even believe you mentioned Javale Mcgee. LOL!
Nick, I’m very aware of Andre Millers ability to cosistantly fly under the radar while maintaining a strong stat line, that’s why I would like him to retire here. Denver must think McGee is good otherwise, they would have done what they could to keep Nene. Denver has a loaded roster and they will not be able to resign all of those guys. They also have a selfish roster of 6 or more players that are looking to pad their own stats. Denver hasnt had a player in a longtime that posesses any leadership skills… Carmello, Iverson, Birdman, Kenyon Martin, Billups, JR Smith, Nene, etc that’s why none of those players are still in Denver. Now with Lawson, Gallinari, Iggy, Koufas, McGee, Brewer, Chandler, Faried and Miller, no one knows who the leader is. Getting Millsap or Al would be a nice change for Denver
Kory, I agree that Denver would love to have Millsap. A frontcourt of Millsap and Faried would literally be the scrappiest, most manimalest frontcourt in the NBA.
George Karl CAN’T STAND McGee, and criticizes him constantly, going so far as to call him crazy and lazy to the media. McGee is full of potential, but he’s too much of headcase to realize it.
