Daily 3-way trade proposal (based on wants)

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

UTAH trades – Jefferson, Tinsley, Bell / UTAH receives – Pierce, Knight, English

BOSTON trades – Pierce, Barbosa / BOSTON receives – Jefferson, Tinsley + pick

DETROIT trades – Knight, English / DETROIT receives – Barbosa, Bell + pick or Barbosa, Burks

This fills 3 of Utah’s “wants”- young PG, All Star presence, Championship experience, not to mention we get rid of Jefferson, Tinsley, Bell

After Calderon got traded to Detroit, there is reason to believe that they are not planning on Knight as their future PG. Plus, trading away T Prince the have no one at SG. Barbosa has rumored to have been on the trade block all season and now that Rondo is hurt they could use a veteran presence behind Avery Bradley. It has also been rumored that Boston is looking to bring in a legitimate scoring Center to compliment Rondo, C Lee, Sullinger and F Melo going into the future while playing alongside KG for the time being. Also do you remember who the Jazz really liked in summer league? Yep, Kim English who is not currently seeing any play time in Detroit.

I am not a big Pierce guy as a person, BUT here is what he could bring to the table if Al were to get traded. Current stats…  Jefferson – 17.2 PPG / 9.5 REB  / 2.0 AST to Pierce’s 18.7 PPG / 6.0 REB / 4.0 AST

Career Stats -

Jefferson – FG% 49.9 / 3PT% 8.6 / FT% 71.9 / REB 9.0 / AST 1.4 / STL .7 / BLK 1.4 / PPG 16.3

Pierce –      FG% 44.7 / 3PT% 36.8 / FT% 80.7 / REB 6.0 / AST 3.8 / STL 1.5 / BLK .6 / PPG 21.9

Pierce is an upgrade in 3PT% and FT% and out of the 6 REB 5 are Defensive! Even though he scores 21.9 PPG, he is a willing passer with 3.8 AST and gets 1.5 STL His stats are very similar to Hayward across the board except he scores 21.9 PPG compared to 9.7 and has more REB and STL. The skeptics will ask, why would we want Pierce if he has similar #’s to Hayward if it means Hayward would follow him off the bench? We have proven Hayward is the scoring force to the 2nd unit and he is ok coming off the bench in the 6th man role (unlike Millsap). Pierce is also much better than Marvin.

Check out this BIG lineup… Mo / Hayward / Pierce / Millsap / Favors

  1. I had a nets jazz and celtics trade
    Utah trades jefferson sap bell
    Celtics trade pierce melo
    Nets trade brooks humphreys telovic
Nets get there third scoring threat with sap then they cut bell and.see what happens with fab melo
Celtics get al who.they seem to have alot of interest in and telovic from the nets
Jazz get a young talented kid in brooks a solid kid coming off the bench in kris and some get leadership this year in pierce i dout he would come back after this season is up.

  3. Nothing will happen.jazz are.to scared to pull the trigger on.anything.anyway

  4. Nathan S. says:

Again, why would Boston trade Paul Pierce? They would have a fan mutiny on their hands if they did so. The future hall of fame forward will remain a Celtic until he retires.

They may trade Garnet, Sullinger, Terry or Bass though.

  5. Nathan, they would trade Garnett but not Pierce?

The Jazz would rather have cap space than do this.
