After these guys get a year in at Kentucky or Duke, the 2014 NBA draft will be loaded with talent… Andrew Wiggins 6′7 / 205 (SF) , Jabari Parker 6′8″ / 220 (SF), Andrew Harrison 6′5″ / 210 (PG), Julius Randle 6′9″ / 225 (PF).

The stand out in 2015 I’d like to save a spot for is Aaron Gordon 6′8″ / 210 (PF) who is dubbed the next Blake Griffen. Check him out on YouTube.

agreed with you on that i think there are a few more players in the 2014 draft that are going to be incredible players to watch in the NBA once they are drafted.. parker and Wiggins are both game changers for any team

Totally agree with your line of thinking Kory. Remember Tom Gugliotta turned into Gordon Hayward?! Future picks have a ton of value: Jazz could either draft a KO in a player or package picks to get a superstar. That how its going to get done in Utah. We will never be able to sign three superstar FA in one offseason like Heat. That is not going to happen. Plus when C4 have big contracts, to have talent on rookie contracts filling the roster will be a luxury.

Look at OKC, they had Durrant, Green, Westrook, Ibaka, Harden and as the season past and they developed their players they new who they felt were keepers and who was not, and trade away the rest to get more assets and more players to improve team. And the cycle will continue, if say, Lamb or PJ3 becomes a talent that other teams want they can sign them or trade them, and so on.

You would have to involve players in a deal to pick up picks. Assets for just picks does not work.Bobcat scouts tell the team to trade out of this years draft. So a three or four team deal would work..

  4. Trading away our best veteran talent now would allow the core 4 time to learn and gel through spending a lot more time together on the court while saving $. Maybe they make the playoffs, maybe they don’t. If not we will earn our own lottery pick. Then you land a few key picks in the next few drafts to add depth for the future.

If you trade AL you would have to come up with a package of between 12 and 23 mill. I believe picks are valued from one to thirty 1st rounders.1st getting around four mill their first year..Not sure. Larry Coon of hoopsworld would know.

It used to be $3m/pick max. Not sure under the new CBA.
