Another one in the bandwagon

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

Count me there now.

Take any coach in Europe officiating from U15W up to euroleague and ask him:

“what would you ask your team to do when you are up by 3 and your opponent has the ball in his hands with less than 24 second to play?”

100% will answer:

“YOU FOUL to put them to the line, shoot 2 FT under pressure, then you secure the rebound”

… but there is no way coaches like Ty (and many in the NBA to tell you the truth) would even think about it. They would rather be in Jennings’ buzzer beater poster than giving their team their best chance to win. Why do you think Pop’s has had so much success? In the kingdom of the blinds, the one-eyed is king …

Ty has not been outcoached … he is just not a coach with basic knowledge.

I’m sick of this non-winning attitude.

The first foul should have come when the guy who rebounded on the missed free throws shoot at 50% on the line. When I saw that, I was yelling, “Foul him!”

Yeah, a lot of not smart plays at the end. Like, you’re up three and the other team has the ball. The LAST thing you give up is a three. You guard with your feet outside the three point line and you FOUL before you ever give up a three. Yet we gave up a three multiple times when they needed to get one. They made tough shots, but why weren’t we forcing the drive, or at least fouling for just two shots?

Another proof that Strategy is not in the dna of the great majority of NBA coach……….

  4. Agreed. Those saying that there isn’t a good coach to replace him with are just saying they are okay with mediocrity. I would be fine with the Jazz hiring an up and coming college coach over Corbin. Corbin doesn’t have a coaching philosophy other than “minutes belong to players to have been in the league longest”. That is a losing philosophy. If the Jazz didn’t have high quality players, they would have already demanded trades and playing time. I believe that the Jazz have the pieces to win most games, but we don’t have a coach who is actually trying to learn how to best play the players he has.
