Too little, too late. Wish it mattered.

  2. KCJones says:

Good riddance. But maybe he had a point about Corbin’s poor communication. Same thing we heard from CJ Miles. Mouth of two witnesses?

  3. Omar says:

When even Corbin’s own son CJ had bad things to say about him despite undeservingly averaging 22 minutes per game, that should tell us something about Corbin and how talented young players that are buried in Corbin’s rotation are feeling….

  4. Patrick says:

I sure hope this is the only screwy thing to happen. Tell me where it makes sense to waive him? If we signed Travis Leslie it makes even less sense? Why sign a guy who is going to sit on the bench behind all the other guards for 19 games, or 10 games if we dont sign him again? He is not a ball handler, not a passer and not a 3 point threat. Cool, a fine mix of Carroll and Burks, a guy with high energy, ok defensive skills, and great dunking abilities.

  5. Andy says:

@Patrick – Leslie is a guard version of Jeremy Evans. Maybe this is the forewarning that the season is a lost cause and lots of garbage minutes are to be played soon.

Greg Miller needs to keep fans interested in any way possible, so if Travis can get a sportscenter dunk once a week, he is worth his value?

Lol, that’s about the only reasoning I see behind this.

  6. Andrew says:

Corbin is trash. Lindsey is trash. Miller is trash.
It’s a really, really unfortunate time to be a Jazz fan.
Wouldn’t it be nice if Millsap and Jefferson find better contracts elsewhere, Marvin decides he doesn’t want to play anymore, Mo signs for $2 mil, Trey Burke is drafted, and no scrub vets are signed to the roster for Corbin to put on a pedestal? Maybe have Malone and Stockton in over the offseason to coach the young kids? Ah, but the organization is too flawed to see reason.

  7. Patrick says:

Andy, we only get one Waiver right? Why not make more sense and wave Marvin? Free up his contract for next season.

  8. Andy says:

Ya it probably would ha. Seems to me that Marvin is trying to show up now though. Maybe he will opt out for brighter pastures or at least be half worth his contract next year.

  9. L.K.Anderson says:

Depends on what kind of contract they sign to Leslie. Ten day makes sense. They might be looking at him for next year.
Team can have as many waivers as they want. Why waive Marvin??? He has a pretty good size contract. If your waive a player you still have to pay them unless someone picks them up. Whole lot of contract stuff.

  14. TACOREV says:

So Bell is gone and apparently we’ve signed this Travis Leslie D-Leaguer fellow… I’m assuming that in the squint possibility that the Jazz somehow do make their way into the playoffs — hypothetically — this Leslie will not be able to participate since he was added to the roster post-March 1st.

    Correct?

  15. Paul says:

I don’t think the Jazz expect Leslie to help other than in practice. They are checking him out prior to the draft. Maybe they hope he as good as some have said and they won’t have to use a draft choice on a PG.

It’s a long shot but I think that’s deal more than they need another PG.

  16. TACOREV says:

    From all accounts I’ve heard/read, Leslie is a SG…

  17. disco says:

@ Taco Is therereally that much of a difference between SG and PG these days. @ Patrick – From what i understand you can only waive players on the team when the new CBA was signed off. ie Not Marvin

  18. L.K.Anderson says:

Check out Larry Coon at hoopsworld. Team can waive any player at any time. You can only amnesty one player and he would have had to be on your team when they made the rule. Also there is only about a two week period in July when this can happen. For instance Jazz have only two players left eligible. Al and Sap would be but they become free agents before this July date. That leaves Hayward and Favors. So no amnesty for the Jazz.. Marvin has a player option coming up. He has not done that well and it is a sizable paycheck so I see him opting in.. But he will be a UFA next year..

  19. Paul says:

Leslie plays the shooting guard in D league but he has the body and skills to play PG, SG or SF on a limited basis.

  20. Henri says:

I was not searching for any kind of web-celebrity by posting this information.

    That said:

Who are the trolls that have massively voted “zero” to this informational post?

  21. Paul says:

The trolls aren’t expressing an opinion on you Henri, it’s the comments that some of them probably don’t like.

It happens on every post. If something positive is said about the Jazz, the fire Corbin crowd hits it with one star just because it’s positive, and they don’t like positive.

As far as info posting goes, by the time info gets posted here, in internet years it’s at least one to two years old. So no one cares about the info, they just use the post as an opportunity to fire Corbin or love those Jazz.
