Remove Favors = End of Run

The Utah Jazz pull within 5 after trailing by more than 15 in the 2nd quarter following sensational play by Favors, Spurs call timeout. Coach Ty Corbin didn’t like what he was seeing, the Jazz were getting too close, let’s go ahead and take out Favors those hustle plays and great defense and him being the only one scoring points just isn’t doing it for me.  Oh look, we just went the last 6 minutes of the 2nd without a field goal.   Brilliant move Coach Corbin.

As soon as Coach Popovich called the timeout I said “Watch Corbin take Favors out” I was only half joking, well he did, and look what happened. I looked at my dad and said “END OF RUN, YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME.” I was hoping I was wrong. Go Jazz in the 2nd…please play Favors Corbin…

  2. Zach says:

Favors +7, Jefferson -35. Hmmm. Ty? Hello? Anybody in there? Coach?

  3. Browncoat says:

Al being in the game is hurting us badly, just, wow.

  4. Browncoat says:

It is like there is a hole in the boat and we are hitting it with a hammer instead of covering the hole and throwing the water out.

  5. Austin says:

Wow!!! The jazz blow!! Its ridiculous corbin is a horrible coach. And they have no will to win. Its pathetic when the ones who want to win sit in the bench and hardy play

  6. Anyone defending Jefferson play now?

  7. Browncoat says:

@Dallan When Favors was in for Al we were working our way back in…

  8. Guido says:

I dont know what to say bout Corbin, Jefferson and Hayward. This is sick.

  9. Browncoat says:

Hayward is at least giving effort and set Al up or easy shots that he could not hit at all.

  10. Exactly Browncoat EXACTLY!! And not one can say anything about his touches either cause he touched it EVERY play down the floor.

I personally think Hayward is getting frustrated with Jefferson. You can see it in his face every time Jefferson does something idiotic on the defensive end and I think that is affecting his play. Millsap was also not himself but as soon as he was with Favors that intensity returns. Did anyone else see that?

  11. Good thing we start Howard for that vet experience. What a joke the starting line up is what has hurt the entire flow of the game. It all starts at the beginning. The rotations are not even the same as they were when the Jazz went on the end of the season winning streak to get them into the playoffs.

Corbin’s minutes and rotation is seriously bad. Now granted the guys in the game need to make some shots but good thing to see Corbin went with the Big 3 once the Jazz were down 30.

One thing I would like to point out was the need for the vet experience to get the Jazz through the game. Hey Corbin do you know Lenard is a rookie? He lit the Jazz up how about you play the young guys a little more… Favors had 10 minutes after 3 quarters? Give me a break.

  12. Browncoat says:

I’ll take the effort and loss with a rookie over what Al and Harris gave us tonight. For what we invest as fans into our team this has been just disgusting. I mean a 10 point loss is respectable but 30-40 is downright disgraceful.

  13. Guido says:

True. There is something bout Corbin that I dont understand, Thank God Cj is injured.

  14. Browncoat says:

Howard wasn’t the problem tonight, he played fine.

  15. Browncoat says:

@Guido I would gladly watch CJ play right now… compared to how we are shooting CJ would be the light of day!

  16. I saw more effort and heart from the D-League white guy that makes 125k this year compared to our “best” player who makes 14 mil this year.. Something is wrong with that

  17. Browncoat says:

Chatting with some other guys, I said the Spurs are on a mission, the Jazz completed theirs.

  18. Guido says:

    @Browncoat: No impossible

  19. Browncoat says:

    @Guido Lol

Favors and Kanter out performed the starters. Only positive i can take from the game but that comes with a negative(they didn’t play much).

  20. Millslapped says:

That was ******* pathetic. Favors was keeping us in the game and Jefferson was bricking all night.

  21. bill says:

Coach Corbin, I’m speechless… never seen anything quite like it! Just my take.

  22. The most incredible part is that this humiliating blowout won’t change a thing about how Ty coaches the next game. He still won’t start or give any decent minutes to the big lineup and he’s going to keep the rotation exactly the same. It is unbelievable how blatantly obvious it is to everybody but Ty

  23. JRN5150 says:

There isnt much to say that can defend Jefferson tonight I agree. But he shouldnt get all the blame either. Ahearn, Kanter, and Carrol were the ONLY Jazz players that shot over %40 tonight. Almost everybody shot %33.3 (including Al). Millsap did a little better at %36. I think everybody gets some blame tonight but especially Corbin. Its his responsibility to utilize what he has and make the most of it. It is time to start Favors and Jefferson at least. Let Milly play with Kanter and even sub in for Al first. Favors needs to be on the floor at all times.

  24. Ty Corbin is f*cking stupid. What a jackass. Jefferson should’ve sat out the second half of the game. Unbelievably bad basketball tonight, by everyone (except Kanter and Favors), especially Al Jefferson. Sh*t city.

  25. Lance is right. If Ty Corbin has proven one thing this season, it’s that he’s more stubborn than a dead mule. Corbin is so prideful that he refuses to admit his mistakes and refuses to make necessary changes. He’s more concerned with hurting player’s feelings. Corbin is going to keep the same line-up for the rest of the series (read: the next 2 games).

If Watson, Howard and Miles were not i injured, I really don’t think we would have won 25 games this season. The injuries allowed Corbin to appear intelligent, and even finished tied for 6th place in Coach of the Year talks.

Corbin is a believer in the “playing through” philosophy. That is, if a player is sucking (Jefferson) he keeps him in the game so that he will fight through his “funk.” Fine during the regular season. Unacceptable in the post.

All of the players on the Jazz talk about how Corbin is different than other coach’s in the league, because, and this is paraphrased from a Jazz player (can’t remember whom) “Corbin’s not like any other coach. He doesn’t bench you if you’re not playing well. He let’s you work it out.”

That sums up Corbin’s coaching philosophy. Accepting garbage play from his players so they can “work through it.” He constantly blathers on about “experience, experience, experience” while the best players sit out of the game and watch–gaining NO experience.

  26. XxHawsxX says:

    Corbin doesn’t understand “logic.”

We go on a win streak with Watson injured and Tinsley playing fantastic – but what does he do? Replaces Tinsley and disrupts the chemistry of the 2nd unit and lose 3 in a row? I’m not blaming Watson either, he should’ve been worked back slowly.

Same thing happened with Carroll when Howard came back. I’m not saying Carroll is better than Howard but he disrupts the flow of the offense in IMO. Hayward doesn’t get as many touches and when he does, they are with 4 seconds left on the shot clock.

C’mon Corbin – play the future franchise not these flunkies!

  27. About Josh Howard:

Everybody watch this video. It is the perfect example of why Josh Howard does NOT belong on the Jazz, or any other good team in the NBA. He is a cancer who is poisoning this young Jazz team

He is an arrogant, egotistical, smug, ball-hog. He does NOT care about this team, this franchise, or its fans. He makes Carmello Anthony look like a past-first player.

Watch this video, in which Howard refuses to talk about the Jazz. Instead, he talks about how good he is, and how many teams would be lucky to have him, and how he’s thankful the Jazz let him display his skills to other teams, so he can jump ship after this season.

Pathetic. Disgraceful. And this is the man in whom Corbin places his complete confidence. This is the man for whom Corbin changed the starting lineup after a hugely successful playoff run. This is the man who is derailing all of the hard work and progress this team has put in. This is the man who made Corbin his bitch.

Josh Howard: [reclining courtside, slouching, arms and legs sprawled out]: “Ya know I’ve had people trying to write me off since I left Dallas, which is hilarious. Once I get my opportunity, it’s gonna be on from there. Utah’s given me that chance and I helped them make it to the playoffs. That makes me happy, too.”

Reporter: “How hard did the Spurs come after you when you were a free agent?”

Howard: [grinning, leaning his head back, wiping his nose] “Pretty hard. Yeah even at the trade deadline from what I hear. That’s another thing that makes me feel good, knowing that a contender like them… Utah [he adds quickly, hoping no one notices] and all these other teams…tried to get me, and still see…[how I'm] playin and see how I came back from injury. Like I said, continuing to do the things I been doin after the injury…it helps me out with my confidence.”

What a deuchebag. Notice he didn’t once talk about the Jazz? You know, his team? The team at whose expense he’s playing?

Yeah this guy is totally going to stick with the Jazz because he’s a very loyal person. Guys in it for himself, and himself only. Couldn’t be more obvious.

    You are completely stupid, Corbin.

  28. disco says:

Glad we made the playoffs to give our rookies experience rather than get a draft pick

  29. the only experience our rookies got was garbage minutes in a blowout. WHat a waste of a 14th pick in the draft. 8 minutes in the 1st half for Favors???? what joke
