I saw the Sun Today, Summer’s a Comin’

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

Yea, I still froze my butt off when I went outside, but no more Mr. Driveway Nazi, that snow will have to melt on it’s own! If summer’s coming, can free agency be far behind?

July 1st the Jazz will have a bucket full of dinero to flaunt around the league.

They can resign their own UFAs like Mo, JD (Junkyard Dog) and Foye.

They can also resign one of their two big men, Paul or Big Al…or not.

Perhaps the Jazz get nether Paul or Big Al back, but instead the Jazz use their money to do a trade with the HATED Lakers for Pau?

Pau is the best passing big man in the league and has great skills.

The HATED Lakers have been shopping him for 2 years and he should be healthy by April.

The Jazz will have the cap space, where nothing would be required to go back to the HATED Lakers, oh…maybe the rights to that 70 year old stiff in Europe we got in a trade a year or two ago.

Pau is owed $19,285,850 for 13-14, then you have his Bird Rights to sign him, or not, for a reasonable salary for 2014.

I started to calculate the new CBA savings for the HATED Lakers, but my cheap calculator started smoking, and caught on fire, when I got to over $60m in total savings for them.

That might make Disappointing Dwight’s max deal a little easier to swallow. Plus, D’Antoni want’s him gone.

So, obviously it comes down to what little Jimmie’s bartender/scout/chief adviser says. ;-)

I think it’d be perfect for the Jazz. Plus, they get that good old flexibility/cap space right back again next summer.

Rotate Pau, Derrick and Enes at the 4-5.

What’s not to like?

Lets just sign an all Latin team during this summer. Pau, Vasquez, Jose, Manu, swing a trade for Ricky.. Sell the Jazz name to the Pelicans and go with Conquistadors. Only 1/2 kidding ;)

Actually, that’s a really nice team!

The Jazz could eliminate Locke and just go with a Spanish broadcasts and the cash Greg gets from selling the Jazz name could be used to lower the cost of tickets.

Also, those teams without Spanish speakers would be lost wondering what the Jazz were telling each other.

Out of curiosity, won’t Chris Bosh be available this summer as well?

Big 3 signed through 13-14. Player option 14-15 and 15-16.

    $83,404,095 14
    $85,600,797 15
    $76,248,000 16

A trade is possible, as their base salary is well into the luxury tax and repeater tax.
