Reflecting back

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.I have been thinking about this topic since D-Will signed his deal with the Nets. A few years ago when Deron only signed a short time deal with us. I along with many other Jazz fans assumed that at the end of his deal he would bolt for Dallas. Now that he hasn’t done as I thought he would makes me wonder if the Jazz would have been in a position, had we not traded him, to offer a max deal to Deron. Hind-sight is always 20-20 but would you have made the trade with the Nets now knowing Deron opted to stay after they brought in Johnson? What would prevent the Jazz from making a similar acquisiton? For the record I love the team that we have now minus one number 19 and a big that I will leave unnamed. I’m mainly curious to see what my fellow Jazz fans think on the matter.

I think Deron did not have the temprement to be the point guard to work with ypung players, His up and down yo-yo temperment made him good one day and very poor the next day. His leaving is the best thing that ever happend to the Jazz. There is no way he is worth the max pay he is receiving.
I also think Deron is excited about playing in a huge global city. Brooklyn is going to be an exciting location for these players to be, and it’s a far cry from SLC. It’s tough to say for sure what he would have done here, but an interesting thought. I too was surprised to see him stick with BKN.
I was not suprised to see him say there, they were able to pay him more than anyother theam in the nfl could pay him, Dallas would only go 75 million and the nets were able to go 98 million, money talks. His main intrest was to be in a big money area and make as much as he could.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Larry N!!! I feel absolutely the same way. I cannot wait for the day that Hayward and Burks are holding the championship and D Will isnt even getting out of the second round, hating his teammates and trying to hope on another super team, probably Miami.
& Favors, Kanter
I think Jazz could be holding that trophy in a couple of years if they can get their stars to stay. I think that Favors Hayward and Kanter will most likely want to stay but Burks may want to go to the big city, who knows maybe he will stay if he thinks Jazz have a shot at the championship.
Depends on the make up of the team who stays
