Meet
Put in Raja!!

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.9.9 seconds, 88-87 Jazz, the ball is definitely going to Monta Ellis, Curry is out, full time-out of course, no comercial break … this was the first time all season I have said: “put Raja in” … perfect D Raja, no foul, off balance fadeway, leaner-ish sort of shot from Monta Ellis, game.

I can’t believe raja…i must say that was perfect defense on a guy who was lights out all night…props to bell.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIID~
Monte was not lights out all day. The free throw line is a different story
Raja was great tonight. We definitely don’t win without him tonight. I just hope everyone backs up off him a bit. If he can be even half as productive as he was tonight he will be a very valuable piece to the team
Raja Bell will have a productive night from time to time but we cannot depend on him to produce on a regular basis. His age will not allow it. When called upon, he can best help the team by coming of the bench/playing solid defense. Golden State was missing key players last night but a win is a win/on the road… hats off/drum roll for the Utah Jazz! Just my take.
I was glad to see him have a good game. Hopefully this is the start of a trend.
Nothing against Bell but I was glad to see him play a little better tonight so it helps with his trade value. One thing I noticed is the Jazz were down 77 – 70 to a very bad team and we put in Harris, Hayward, Howard, Millsap, and Big Al. Next thing you knew the Jazz were back in the game against a very bad team. Yes a win is a win and it was good to see the Jazz pull out a tight game. The other good thing is the Jazz are getting better and that is all I care about at this time of the season.
@bill: You are talking right up my alley when you say “his age will not allow it.”This is why he should not start. But his defense a the the end of half or the game could be a key to the victory. That and teaching the youngsters could bet his best spot. Too bad the NBA does not have a “Player/Coach position.”
Role player, cogratulations to him, raja´s haters (including me) can shut our mouths, but as I said recintly… as my coach said: Important thing in basketball is finish games not start them.
Raja played well. 50% ft, good defense. I want him to play well, I really do, so it was good to see him do well. I still think Burks and Hayward to get enough minutes to keep progressing, and I still feel Raja shouldn’t get more than 15 min a game or so.
Maybe we could learn a lesson from Coach Corbin, who tells his guys to encourage and support teammates who are struggling. Hopefully Raja can shake off the bad play and give us some consistently better performances.
Oh, come on, it was one play and it wasn’t particularly well-defended. Monta was the one who made the mistake, waiting way too long to make his move and not leaving himself enough time to complete the drive before the buzzer.
The stats from the people who know ( basketball-reference.com ) don’t lie. The advanced box score at http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201201070GSW.html still shows that he had the worst defensive rating of any player on either team who played double-digit minutes.
For the season, Raja has the second-worst defensive rating of anyone on our team (only Hayward, who is still totally lost out there on D, is worse). He’s too old and slow to guard anyone. Don’t let your eyes fool you.
