The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.why in the heck are so many of you complaining about not getting jimmer?? I am one of the biggest jimmer fans out there… but for jimmer i thought he would do better on a different team… besides do you know how good Burks could be? he was a steal at 12! the jazz ended up with the best center in the draft AND the best ranked 2 guard. So many of you were complaining that they need a shooting guard and they ended up with one that has potential. Be happy for jimmer and get over it!

This was a no win situation. The side the Jazz picked will be tossed around for a long time to come. If the Jazz picked Jimmer then you would have had fans complaining about playing time and everything under the sun. This worked out best for everyone. Jimmer can work and turn out to be whatever player he is working for in a less confusing arena. Comming here would have been way to much pressure. If you are a true Jimmer fan wish him the best.
I think that Jimmer would have done well with the Jazz, and that he would have done well here. KOC said that Jimmer was in their top 10, but he wasn’t available. Jimmer fans just wanted us to make a move to get him.
Burks inability to shoot well in college (prolific scorer on a bad team with bad personal efficiency) is what concerns me with the pick.
People… we didn’t pass on Jimmer, it wasn’t our choice. The Kings moved ahead of us to take him. That means they sacrificed assets to move up because they thought we were going to pick him… and we probably would have. They wanted him more than we did. The Jazz looked into what it would have took to move to 8th and the Pistons weren’t moving it, didn’t happen. Oh well.
End of story, Jimmer’s time in Utah is over.
“It’s like the Sopranos, it’s over man, find a new show!”
agreed with all of you! @jared… rigby said that he actually has a good jump shot from mid range, he just struggles from the 3. He did improve though… freshman year 18 percent and last year 29… mark my words, he will be a solid back up.
no more jimmer posts until we play the kings. maybe….
Agree with every post here. I hope Jimmer does good in Sac. But I still don’t think he would have worked in Utah. Both parties lucked out here. Maybe he will save the Kings from moving to Anaheim.
If te Jazz did move to 8 it would have been to get knight over Jimmer. That is a no brainer. I was so hopeful I kept hearing the announcement of Paul Millsap and #12 being traded for knight.
Can’t complain about coming out of the draft with its best center and shooting guard. We could end up with the best inside game in the league. And Burks is great, we really needed someone who could get to the basket like he should be able to.
Breaking news: Ron Artest has filed paperwork in Los Angeles Superior Court to legally change his name to Metta World Peace. Once again, truth proves to be WAY better than fiction.
@woody… agreed! the only reason for this jimmer post is to get people to stop complaining about him…
Tottally agree. Lets hope the best guys.
As a huge Jimmer/BYU fan, I also get annoyed that everyone is still lamenting the draft. He’s not a jazzman, he never was. Get over it. Let’s focus on the bright future that we have instead of what might have been.
@JRN Jazz had no plans to get Knight. Knight sealed his fate at NOT getting picked #3 with his attitude and comments while he was here. He made it very clear he wasn’t interested in Utah and that he didn’t intend to stay long term. Jazz lost interest. That’s why Kanter was on thier #1 list. He was actually happy to come to Utah.
I wanted Jimmer too, I really did, but I’m a Utah Jazz fan first and if he fell to us at 12# then awesome but you don’t make a trade and give up proven assets just to get “The Jimmer”. That is just bad management by the FO.
Jazz got a great kid in Burks. Personally i would have gone with Singleton for defensive purposes but Burks is still a solid kid all around and will be productive.
and the threats and insults to Greg Millers twitter are just pathetic. Yeah, he’ll never be Larry, he’ll never have Larry’s passion or true love for the team but we can’t be so classless as to tweet threats to not renew our season tickets if we don’t “GET JIMMER AT ALL COSTS!”
Totally agree with u Josh.
I agree that it’s best Jimmer didn’t end up in Utah, but I wouldn’t have minded us getting him either.
Dave801:
Sacramento didn’t move ahead of us, they had the 7th pick. They moved back to 10th in order to receive some assets along with getting Jimmer.
The bull!@#$% about it is I would rather have Jimmer with 3 than Kanter.
