Indiana Trade

One thing all of us would agree on is Bell is really struggling.  One young player that has really been impressing me this year is Paul George from Indiana.  I think the jazz should trade Harris/Bell/Miles for Collison and George.  Indiana would do it because Collison has not been very good there, but he is young and has a ton of potential, and so does George.  They get Harris to make their PG solid and Miles and Bell to replace George.  This trade would free up time for Burks and also give a little more time for Hayward and Howard.  Would you do this trade?  Here is the lineup after the trade:

Collison/Watson/Tinsley
George/Burks
Howard/Hayward
Millsap/Favors/Evans
Jefferson/Kanter

I’d do that trade trade in a heartbeat.

No chance Indiana bites on it, though.

    Collison > Harris
    George > CJ
A box of deflated basketballs > Raja

Larry Bird hand-picked Collison & George and I’d be surprised if he gave them up after one season + six games.

There’s no way ‘Diana would take that. However if Jefferson or Milsap were thrown in they would consider it. Before the season started it was fairly obvious that they were looking for another big man.

  3. Chase says:

Paul George and Collison I’d love, love to have for a long time.

I see this trade being more plausible (I haven’t added salaries though)

Collison and George (and they’d probably have to dump a player on us that has a crappy contract)

    For

Cj Miles, Harris, either one of the first round pics we have next year and maybe AJ.

You need to run your trades through a trade machine. Salaries have to match within reason. You are giving away way too much. But I do like Collison and Grorge.

  5. Josh says:

I did L.K. and it is fully possible. Try it :) Indiana is way under the cap and it works. As far as Indiana doing it I know its a long shot.

  6. Dave801 says:

Josh… the salaries don’t work on this trade, not by a long shot.

    Harris 9.3 mil
    Miles 3.7 mil
    Bell 3.2 mil
    Utah salary = 16.2 mil

    George 2.4 mil
    Collison 1.4 mil
    Indiana salary = 3.8 mil

What trade machine did you use? Indiana has to give back at least 10 mil more in salary for this to even come close.

Just because the cap space is there doesn’t mean a trade like this can happen.

  7. Josh says:

ESPN… its down right now but i promise it works lol

  8. I say trade Harris, Hayward (Indiana native and currently scared of his shadow), and Big Al for Collison, George, Granger and Hibbert

  9. I like Harris. He will do nothing but get better this year, just watch.
Nobody in their right mind would take CJ or Bell.
CJ is and always has, struggling with his shot. He is shooting like crazy this year and shooting well under 50% from the field. He is a offensive black hole that does not produce anything helpful. (Big Al is also an offensive black hole but his scoring justifies it)
Bell is just worthless. His PER is the worst of all SGs in the NBA and why would anybody want that on their team?!

We are STUCK with these two guys for the next year.

  10. Dave801 says:

@ Josh, did you use trade exceptions?

I love how we Jazz fans assume that teams are actually interested in Bell or Miles. If we were to move either of these players, it would be Harpring-Maynor style. We would have to throw in something very valuable. I don’t think it’s worth it.

Miles is in a contract year so even if he keeps making bone head plays, (which he has been making A LOT of), we at least know he is going to be working his butt off for a contract. And what’s the worst that can happen with Bell staying? We move him to the bench where there is less pressure to perform, and I guarantee you he starts playing better. Sometimes when you are trying too hard to do well, you struggle, and don’t let the game come naturally. That’s where Bell is right now. I say keep them both, and let them compete with the young guns for playing time.
