stop dreaming and be literal!

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.First of all i share the excitement with all of you for the new season to start! But after reading posts about how the jazz need to trade for iggy or chris paul, or how deron williams is coming back to the jazz in the summer… You need to wake up and be ready for reality! The jazz can not afford to sign a free agent like Jamal Crawford (who i have always liked), or tyson chandler… a more literal chance would be Prince, even then its pushing it. The jazz have 11 roster spots filled right now and only 10 million to sign at least 3 players, because the jazz like keeping a few on the ir list. The players ya’ll are dreaming about signing will be demanding much more money then the jazz have. Also we need to be literal, since the jazz play in utah they have to over pay a decent free agent to come play here. Anyway that is all lol I’m not saying all of this to be rude just want to make sure you all realize reality and don’t get your hopes up for the impossible.

Ever hear of this new Amnesty Clause? It free’s up an extra 10 million. If they use it on Memo. That gives them enough money to sign plenty of those guys. Obviously CP or Dwill type players aren’t coming, but its not like Crawford is gonna get a 50 million dollar contract.
The Iggy talks I have heard have been through trades, maybe for Millsap. I think that would be the best possible, realistic move that I’ve heard on here so far. Assuming Phili is shopping him.
How many teams need big men? you dont think Al Jefferson could lure a good point gaurd off a team with a full backcourt menu? Al is my favorite player, but lets get real thats the kind of moves that could possibly happen and should happen if Jazz want to be competetive. We need a proven point gaurd. It wouldnt be that shocking if the jazz land a big name point gaurd.
You make a good point that we will not likely land a great FA. The last time we were competitive on that front we had D Will to lure them in. But I don’t think landing good players through trades is impossible. And as far as reality goes I never thought realistically that Jerry Sloan would resign in the middle of a season. Or that Deron Williams would be traded soon after. Or that we would get Al Jefferson in a trade for Kosta K. So I don’t think it’s out of reach for the Jazz to make some trades for good players. However I don’t think they will make any trades before the season starts. But you never know.
