How about a Big Lineup/Small lineup rotation?

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

Here’s an idea I had that I think would improve our rotations and play a little more to our player strengths.

Starting lineup:

Mo,   Hayward, Millsap, Favors, Al

2nd Unit;

Tinsley/Watson, Foye, Burks, Marvin, Kanter

I think the advantage of this is it allows Marvin to post up some, Favors to start and also get Burks some playing time with Foye. It’s also interchangable in that Foye or Tinsley or Marvin could all substitute and fit in well with the starting unit pretty easily. I think it would make for smoother rotations and allow each of our players to shine and would spread 2nd unit would have shooters (Foye, Marvin) and post (kanter) and Burks would have room to play his game.

What do you guys think?

    OMG why Jazz coaches wasted so many times on CJ “I shot for fun” Miles… did u see his numbers this season??? Are Cavs on earth??

  2. KCJones says:

    Speaking of CJ, in his third year (07-08) he posted his best FG% ever at 48%. 3-pt% was 39%.

    The next four years?
    08-09: 46%, 35%
    09-10: 43%, 34%
    10-11: 41%, 32%
    11-12: 38%, 31%

    And this year with Cleveland:
    12-13: 23%, 22%

    Now, to remind everyone, CJ was taking THE THIRD most shots on the team, right after Al and Paul. We’re SO much better just by letting him go and let really anybody but Tinsley and Watson take those shots instead.
