Kyle Lowry

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

I read this article late last night on ESPN. Have a read…

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7974223/houston-rockets-kyle-lowry-issue-kevin-mchale-coach

This article made me grin from ear to ear. This obviously means they will probably trade Lowry and resign Dragic. I think we should give them their choice of Big Al or Paul and then build a package around them and try to get Lowry and maybe Kevin Martin. I have heard from multiple sources that Parsons is not available and rightly so. He was on par with Hayward for a lot of the season. I had some fun on the trade machine and there is plenty of things I came up with. Our salaries are pretty compatible with the Rockets’.

My favorite was Paul For Kyle straight up. We would probably have to add a pick but I like it so much because we would save $2.5 mil to pay someone else as a free agent.

I am sure you can find one that better suits your liking. Maybe we could get a third team in on it to take Harris, Watson, or Bell off of our hands.

I think if any of the bigs go it would be AL. He has the highest salary and Rockets are looking for a center. This would get Al closer to his home.Wolves coach would love Martin. Jazz give up AL,to Rockets, Martin to Wolves. Lowry, Johnson and a pick from Wolves to Jazz.Johnson has been a dissapointment so far but I think he would be ok with the Jazz. How about Harris, Bell to Portland for Matthews.

  2. From what I understand, Lowry has had character issues for sometime (this isn’t an isolated incident).

We don’t need attitude like that (especially from a guy who isn’t a star caliber player).

I do like Goran Dragic though.

  3. L.K.Anderson says:

With issues Rockets will go hard after Dragic. Almost guarentee Portland will give a toxic offer..

  4. LK that is a good three way trade I like it a lot!! I still think that Houston would love Al because of Mchale.

  5. Lowry and Martin would be nice additions unless Lowry’s attitute carried over to Utah. If we do end up trading away Milsap or Al, I’m really hoping we target Ersan Ilyasova as a FA.

Who would you rather have Lowry,Martin,Ilyasova or Harris,Miles,Jefferson?

  6. If we traded Al and Bell that frees up 18 mil. So with Lowry that leaves 12 mil if we bring in Johnson to that is 8 mil so we could sign Ilyasova for that. I would be down with that. Sometimes a change of scenery for a high pick is what he needs. Plus he would not have to be “the guy” here like everyone expects him to be in Minny.

  7. L.K.Anderson says:

Johnson always played well against the Jazz.Martin would be great but he makes a ton of money and is injury prone. I will take the Hayward/Burks combo any day. But I think Johnson would fit right in.It would be nice to move Bell and maybe Watson at the same time.

  8. I agree LK we could package them all somehow. Houston might want Earl if they lose Lowry so that would free up 20 mil that would be good!! Any scenario of that trade I would be down with. Send it to KOC :)

  9. Shane says:

I like LK’s proposal, both would be great additions. I don’t know what it is, but I am not a fan of Martin and I hope he doesn’t ever end up in Utah. There are 10-12 other scoring guards (that are reasonable for the Jazz to get) that I’d rather see in a Jazz uniform.

I hadn’t heard of other character issues w/ Lowry – what else has happened with him? I have always been super high on him, but if he’s a head case I don’t want him.

  10. Ben Williams says:

It would have to involve Al and not MIllsap. They already have scola who is very similar to millsap and he still has multiple years left. Al would fill a void, but his contract is large, so Lowry AND Martin or someone like Dalembert would have to be involved just to make the money work. Not sure we would get Martin AND Lowry for Al. In fact, I see that never happening. We’d have to add young talent and/or draft pick(s).

  11. @Ben actually Martin time is up in Houston. He got tons of DNP because hm and Mchale really do not get along. They are both trying to get out of there. So they are going to try and ove him and if they could dump him then they would. But LK proposed a solution without us getting Martin which I like cause I do not terribly love him. Unless we somehow got Nash cause he would be a good fit by Nash with his probe and kick style. That is what Martn needs.

  12. Martin would take away from Haywards production unless he was his replacement off the bench

  13. Steve says:

what would be better… Lowry and a pick? or Lowry and Martin?
I would love Martin and his scoring, he is an efficient scorer, which is something that is highly valued on this jazz team.
A draft pick would be great but unless it guarentee’s us lillard or marshall i don’t think its that great of value.

  14. Woah now let’s not get to over zealous. He is not efficient. He shoots 44% from the floor in his career. I would rather have a pick. Cheaper and no ego cause they have not dne anything yet. Martin was the man in Sac-Town so he feels like he should be the man even though he is a decent 3rd option and he would have to know that coming in

  15. L.K.Anderson says:

Martin can be a killer. One of those hot shooters. But he is injury prone and for long periods of time. Wolves would love to have him. A three or four team deal could get it done. His salary is also quite high. But he could make the Wolves backcourt the real deal. Rockets could have the center they want and the Jazz a point and a three that would be pretty good. Would be even sweeter to got back the pick from the wolves in the trade.Go get-um KOC..

  16. Patrick says:

I usually am not so harsh, but this is a great example of why you should not do drugs…..

Tell me why we want a Lowry on our team, if we dished away DWill? Lowry is dictating terms and has not a percentage of the talent to do so.

If you guys were trading for Dragic, that might make sense. But trading for Lowry. Shoot, why not give all our good players away and we can do an all Wine an cry D League team.

You guys kill me, and make me oh so happy that KOC is the man in charge. The best part of this whole post was the part that someone wants to trade away Bell, Harris, and Watson for something. Problem is, who wants our junk.

Dont you think if they are going after Dragic with such a fever that there is a reason?

I did laugh when I read that Portland would front load for Dragic.

If you trade a guy, please get someone back worth the same talent level who improves the team, not a backup Deva.

  17. L.K.Anderson says:

I think everyone is restless and having fun.. Yes anyone who thinks KOC reads these posts needs to belly up for another one.. Also I still think Marvin Williams for the trade exeption would be great. That helps both teams..
